New Chelsea Manager Confirmed!

Chelsea+Open+Training+Session+aE1P7TO2yBbl.jpg

Roman Abramovich has taken a gamble with his latest managerial appointment.

The Chelsea board have confirmed the appointment of Antonio Guerra as the latest boss at Stamford Bridge.
Italian Antonio Guerra has little experience and it remains to be seen whether he can handle the pressures of such a job and tussle with the egos that reside in Chelsea’s dressing room.

The new Blues boss had this to say,

I’m delighted to be given such an opportunity. I am a huge fan of the club and I am living a dream.

Chelsea captain John Terry seemed unsure as he spoke to the press,

I am a little nervous to be honest. Appointing a manager with as little experience as Mr. Guerra is a huge risk, but I am totally behind him and hope he will be a success!

Today signals the start of the July transfer window and with a new boss Chelsea are expected to make major moves.
It has been said that the new Blues boss believes that his backup keepers are not good enough and will be in the market with David De Gea a possible arrival.

The Blues boss is believed to be playing with three strikers and will want to strengthen in this area.
Guerra is an open admirer of Sergio Aguero and was quoted as saying,

Sergio is a fantastic talent and would be able to lead the line for years to come!

Guerra wants to play attractive attacking football and will take a complete evaluation of playing and backroom staff.

Guerra has also ruled out a move for Landon Donovan,

I am not interested in him (Donovan).

-I'm hoping to keep everything in the same style, thanks for any comments and help

Chelsea were among three clubs in competition for the youngster’s signature. The Londoners had a bid of £150k rejected.

Verratti commented on his move,

I am delighted to sign for this club, I am now part of Europe’s elite and that is nothing but good for my career!”

Guerra seemed in a good mood,

I am one hundred percent sure that Verratti will become one of the world’s best players. I am prepared to say that we’ve done ourselves a huge favour with this coup.”

Chelsea Pre-Season Special

Genk 1 vs. 4 Chelsea
Experimental moves by Guerra saw him put out a second team and that showed as Chelsea struggled early, but once they got a handle on the game they were ruthless.
E.Barda (38) – J.Terry (7), S.Kalou (49), D.Drogba (56), D.Sturridge (64)
-Pleased with the vision showed in the goals-

Leicester 0 vs. 7 Chelsea
Brilliance by Chelsea’s midfield three Frank Lampard, Marco Verratti and John Obi Mikel saw them run out emphatic winners with a dominant display from start to finish.
M.Essien (21), F.Lampard (26,31), D.Drogba(27), R.Carvalho (39), M. Verratti (61), J.Cole (89), A.Cole injured (90+4)
-Fantastic performance, surprising thing was that we were actually wasteful, Cole’s injury isn’t good, but he’ll be back before the Community Shield-

Scunthorpe 1 vs. 4 Chelsea
Chelsea won comfortably with captain John Terry leading by example.
G.Hooper (60) - D.Sturridge (2), N.Anelka (12), J.Terry (69), S.Kalou (80), D.Sturridge injured (67)
-Scoreline doesn’t show the dominance we enjoyed, we camped in their half and their goal came as a surprise-

MK Dons 0 vs. 8 Chelsea
Chelsea’s dominance was absurd at times and MK Dons were never in it.
S.Kalou (1, 11), D.Drogba (7,68), L.Traore (37), F.Lampard (50), B.Ivanovic (61), J.Terry (84)
-Delighted that Lacina Traore got onto the scoresheet and Kalou is giving me reasons to keep him-

Hibernian 0 vs. 4 Chelsea
Another vintage pre-season display ensured that Chelsea maintained their unbeaten record under Guerra.
N.Anelka (3,22), J.Terry (31,73)
-John Terry is showing up as a real threat from corners-

Colchester United 1 vs. 4 Chelsea
The unbeaten pre-season run continued here as Chelsea scored four or more for the sixth time in a row.
M.Okuonghae(81) - J.Terry (9,80), S.Kalou (25), J.Rodwell (30)
-That man Terry showed up again, still no hat-trick though, Rodwell scored his first Chelsea goal-

Pescara 0 vs. 1 Chelsea
Chelsea were nearly embarrassed by lowly Pescara as they nearly snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
S.Aguero(2)
-Playing with three new strikers this was understandable-

Player of the Pre-Season
John Terry – A winner by a mile, no competition, his displays at set pieces only capped his brilliant performances throughout.
