Choosing the RIGHT Tactic for YOUR Team!

Any football manager will tell you that they base their tactics around the players they have at there disposal and use that as a base to work up from ... so on FM what things should you be looking out for when deciding on tactics for your team? What i mean by this is should it be based on players attributes? players mentality? player age? what league your in?


How can you tell whether your team would be better as attack/defense minded?

How do you know whether to play short passes or direct passes? (I know people are gonna come back saying there Passing attributes, but if you can't play a short pass with a low attribute then how are you going to be able to hit a 50yarder?)

What things tell you what tempo to play at?

I know there are many tactics people have created and posted to this site, myself being one of them, but surely those tactics were only successful for those people because they completely suited the team they were playing with at the time, and do not guarantee success with any old team?

well it definately(spelling) depends on the attributes ( this is just my theory) as if you wanted to play with wing backs with a support /attack role you would be in need with a wing back with pace and acceleration so they are quick to get up to support and to get back very quickly to defend. with winger i tend to look for players with flair, dribbling, pace and accerlation and possibly crossing all depends on the sort of winger you want as you can have a player to cut in and try go for glory or pass to either in my formation i have villa upfront with either Kroos or Rooney in attacking midfield.


you should try my tactic if your midfield is stronger than your forwardXD

I also think it depends on the manager, and what formation he prefers
Also the squad you have, like liverpool only 1 classsss striker means they dont play with 2 up top
