I know there are existing threads on this, but i had to post this picture to show just how badly unbalanced the current FM is when it come to shots/goals ratio.

11.3 patch before anyone says anything.

This is ridiculous.

R. Madrid = 11 shots on goal - 1 goal
R. Sociedad = 1 shot on goal - 1 goal

And lets face it my Madrid players are vastly better...

one screenshot means nothing, happens irl all the time.

i would examine the chances you are creating, becuase if i was having that kind of game i would have changed things at half time

How many were clear cut chances though? You can have 11 shots on target and if they're all long shots, money is on the keeper to save them.

Blackpool 3-1 Tottenham

BLACKPOOL

TOTTENHAM
Possession

  • Blackpool 43%
  • Tottenham 57%
Attempts on target

  • Blackpool 4
  • Tottenham 10
Attempts off target

  • Blackpool 4
  • Tottenham 15
Happens in real life as well ya know...

I agree. Does anyone remember Real Madrid vs Lyon in the champions league last season? Madrid dominated from start to finish, and were creating chances left, right and centre. But they still ended up losing because they couldn't put the ball in the net.

If you know there were other threads, why don't you use them?

Happens all the time. No biggy..

Yeah, but this aint 'real life' is it? Or have you guys been playin FM so long you have forgotten that???

Its a game based on maths and algorithms, if my players have stats for finishing, composure and decsions higher than the opposition, surely I should score more goals?

And on the flip side, if my keeper has better stats for one on ones, reflexes etc then surely he should save more shots than the other goalie?

remember this aint real life, its based on numbers so surely there must be some kind of 'handicap' system ingrained intot he FM programming, otherwise it wouldnt happen to so many people so many times.

It's based on real life. It's a management simulation.

Get a grip will you.

Fm might not be real life but it is a simulation... Obviously it takes into account other variables than finishing, composure and decisions. If the game was supposed to work how you say then all you ever have to do is purchase the best players possible without regards to formation and tactics and you should comfortable run out 10-0 winners every game. If football or FM was that predictable it would be a waste to get involved.

It's true, it is VERY annoying when your team miss chances, especially CCCs.

But this stuff happens in real life all the time, FM is a game, a very enjoyable game at that and is the closest most people will probably come to being a football manager.

The game is generally VERY realistic and requires some tactical prowess to be sucessful.

For example:

I played as Barcelona against Sevilla in the Spanish supercup, i did not focus on my tactics

i got beat 4-2 on aggregate. with a 4-1 loss in the first leg

I then played against At.Madrid in the league, remade my tactics and won 5-0.

In both games we got CCCs, in both games we missed some, it's just something you have to deal with.

It just shows players need to be put in their right roles, you need to think out a strategy and not just play as Man City and buy a world class 11 and expect them to instantly gel together and be world beaters.

it happens in real life and it is based on the stats aswell but i have noticed that even some top players that have great stats like for a striker but if his hidden attributes such as consistancy and important matches ratings are low then he will never perform at the top of his game and i have just looked at berbatov's hidden attributes and his consistancy and important matches is 12 each so that is only avarage. when looking for a top player use fm genie scout and look at their hidden attributes as well as there main profile attributes

Look at saturdays Tottenham vs West Ham match. Teams just find ways to miss at times :)
