Come on you Glory Boys
So this is my first ever attempt at a story and I will be doing it with my home team Perth Glory FC. Perth Glory is the only professional football team in the city of Perth, and performing in the Hyundai A-League. They aren't the most reputable team in the Australia and are commonly overshadowed by the teams in the east. I step in with the mission to turn Perth Glory into the greatest team in Australia.

Should be interesting to see an A-League story! Hopefully you don't cheat the system like the real life Perth Glory :P

Somehow I think I'll need to keep an eye on the finances here, hopefully not too many worries. You can never trust Mr Sage though.

Well this already puts a dampener on things, Youssouf Hersi, my ideal first choice right winger is out with a virus before I've even played a match.

As you can see, the money injected into the club isn't the greatest, i'm working with the worst wage budget I've ever seen and I'm most likely going to need to sell before I buy. Despite that, I'm gonna look to keep the majority of the players here, see how things pan out before I look to buy anyone

It's probably worth noting that this is the first time I've attempted a story, and FM15 is the first FM that I've ever played, so I'm still a bit of a rookie. I'm hopefully looking to build the squad into the best in the nation, using predominantly youth players. Maybe an Asian Champions League someway down the line, but that's a little way off.

It's worth noting that for about two weeks I'm working this around my exams, so don't expect regular updates till later.

When I first came in I noticed that the youth facilities were utter ****. With the limited transfer finances and a salary cap to deal with, I knew we weren't getting anywhere without any of the younger guys coming through. This had to be addressed right away, so I decide to have a little meeting with Mr Brewer. It took a little convincing but it came through in the end. Should be done by the middle of September.

Also found this young guy called Julius Davies available for a free. I knew that we needed a backup for Sidnei down on the left wing and this guy has good stats for pace, dribbiling and can put in a pretty good cross too. Seeing as we still have a while before we kick into the season ahead I bought him in on a trial and will plan on signing him shortly

So as I was driving home from training, I got a call from Josh "Gibbo" Gibson, the Head of Youth Development. It was getting late, seeing as I had already missed dinner with the family, I really didn't want any bad news.

"Gibbo, whats going on man?"

"It's Julius mate, he just signed the contract then, just thought I'd give you the heads up"

"Ah brilliant, whats the details?"

"Well, the good news is he's on a youth contract, board regulations meant that he couldn't be given a full time contract, so while he'll initially join up with the young lads, he's only getting 90 bucks a week."

"Just 90?! Jeez you're good at this stu-"

"He ain't joining till the 14th though boss. That's when the window opens. His trial ends on the 4th and we can't extend it any further"

"Oh that's not so bad, we can live with that. Thanks Gibbo"

As I hang up the phone I pull into the driveway in a pretty good mood. The wife? Not so much.

So this was my first round of pre-season friendlies, I thought the youths game was a good idea until i saw that the Munchen Lions game was just a few days after, and it was too late to cancel the youths friendly. Surprisingly, we headed into the Munchen Lions game as favourites, which made the 5-0 margin that much worse. Already Andy Keogh and Richie Garcia are establishing themselves as my key men this season, Hersi might have it tough trying to make it back in.

Next game comes again Northbridge FC in the FFA cup 1st round. I'll bring that one to you live.

So with one day till match day I had the boys run through the tactics planned. One of the first things that struck me was that Garcia wasn't at training today. Well this can't be good can't it. I got on the phone to Hutcho, the head physio, to check whats happened.

Hey Hutcho, you haven't seen Richie around have you?

Yeah I have boss, bad news. He came straight up to me before training and I had a look at him. He's come down with a virus. Give him two weeks.

Well at least we got Youssouf back for the game to-

I was interrupted by the lads on the pitch, Dino Djulbic, one of my starting centre backs, has gone down with what looks like a thigh injury.

You better get over here quickly, Dino's just been hit by a nasty challenge in training.

Right away. Oh, and, one more thing

Oh please don't give me more bad news mate,

Julius Davies twisted his knee training with the youths today, not looking good, what i'll do when I check over with Dino is see how long those two will be out for.

Alright mate, see you soon.

So Garcia, Djulbic and Davies all out injured, all in the same day one day before my first professional match. That's really changed up my matchday plans. Guess I gotta make do.

MATCHDAY

This was a complete and utter domination, but I expected no less. Going up against a non league team against an almost full match squad, we were always going to win.

21 Minutes in, Nebosja Marinkovic hit a free kick against the crossbar. It shot up in the air before falling to the feet of Andy Keogh, who slotted home with ease.

In the 38th minute, a Griffiths through ball made its way to the feet of Keogh, but before he could get on the end of it, he was cut down with a professional foul by Paul Reid. I immediately looked to the way off the referee and he showed Reid a straight red. The Northbridge players were surrounding the referee and even I felt they were a little hard done by, but I wasn't complaining. The subsequent free kick was sprayed wide.

So going into half time we were 1-0 up going against 10 men. I told the boys to keep up the good work and we'll make it through. Ruben Zadkovich and Scott Jamieson were looking tired, so i swapped them for Danny de Silva and Dragan Paljic respectively.

In the 61st minute the latter received the ball out wide from O'Neil, went for a run through the left wing and put in an inch perfect cross for Keogh to head home from the 6 yard box. Directly after this Youssouf Hersi came on for Scott Jamieson as I switched to a 4-3-3.

Late in the game, Danny de Silva picked the ball up from 25 yards out, put a pass directly left of him to Marinkovic, who blasted one home along the ground to put us 3-0 up.

I told the lads that the could be very proud of their performance. We still have a while to go before the season starts so it's mainly going to be friendlies ahead of us.

POM Andrew Keogh (G2 A0 R9.0)

If you're going to continue this I will follow! :)

Sorry mate I never noticed it!

Absolutely honoured to hear this from you, it was your janie carragher save that bought me to this site in the first place.

I will continue this story, just gotta find time for it, im absolutely weighed down with exams so there is literally no time right now. Plus my laptop needs a repair so its gonna be several weeks before this gets back up and running.
