Complete and utter beginner - help!

Ok, so I get the jkist of the idea of what this editor is, but my fm did not come with an editor with the game, like, there's no folder with 'Tools > Editor' anywhere amonst my FM files.
Ok, so I downloaded this FMRTE from the downloads on this website, but like, where do I need to save it, and where can I use it, is the editor actually in the football manager game, or do I do the editing before I click to go on to the game? Also, once I downloaded, saved this FMRTE thing in the right place, is that it, do I have to do anything else?
Sorry for being such a noob, but any help would be appreciated

you do the editing before you set up the game when its saved and you start a game it will ask which Database to use and you can select your database. once you have saved it that should be fine
