Conceding same goals over & over

Hi all, been playing the new game quite a bit & currently managing Chelsea. Seem to be losing alot of goals since the new patch & its always the same way over & over again. The ball through the centre of my defence giving the opposition a CCC. I have literally tried everything, set luiz & terry to hold position, set them as cover, deep line, high line, no closing down, closing down, etc etc. I have had this issue on my previous save as well since the new patch. Is there anything we can do or is this just a bug? seems quite pointless as makes you not want to play the game if this cant be counteracted. The main thing I notice is that my centre backs dont ever hold their position & always run forward to leave a huge gap. I'm thinking the only way to stop this is to play 2 sweepers & 2 centre backs in front of them!

have you tried setting your defenders to Ball playing defenders with the player instructions set on pass it short, mark tightly and tackle harder?

if you show a screenshot of your defenders players instruction, team instructions, formation and the role they play i could help you out more.
 
hi mate, why would playing them as ball playing and pass short have an effect on their positioning though?

Formation - 4-3-3 with a DM

Team Instructions - user tight marking, get stuck in, allow wide players to swap, play out of defence, more direct passing, push higher up, use offside trap, play narrower

I added the play narrower recently as it improved it slightly. My CB's were so far apart!

CD instructions - Cover - hold position, mark tightly, direct passes, tackle harder

To add to the above, my fullbacks tend to do very stupid things too, my rb will come out of position to close down someone who has the ball leaving the winger next to him completely free to have a one on one with my keeper.

i would remove hold position since you have use offside trap in your team instructions this will allow your defenders to get in good positions in case of through balls and counter attacks.

for me using ball playing defenders they act as a team in defence and watch each other position with there passing and position ability will greatly increase.

i would set them on defend, also try having your full back set on CWB's with close down more, mark tighter, tackle harder.

you also said your formation is an 4-3-3 with a DM so if it's more like a 4-1-2-2-1 try setting your DM to HB he will help out in defence and act as a 3rd defender which should stop through balls

Thanks bud, will give that a go, iv also set my keeper to sweeper keeper. Hopefuly signing a few more cbs too, trying to get hummels but looking very unlikely any suggestions?

i always go for young defenders like Umitti, Zouma, Doria, Balanta, fast defenders always seem to be better in defence
 
Yeah, I have this issue also I play attacking, high pressure, offside trap so expect it to happen sometimes but it gets silly. Make sure your defenders are familiar with each other as on this game its more important. Does anyone else concede goals where their defender does a slide tackle and it goes to the opponent for an open net? I get this like at least every other game but it never happens to me...annoying!
 
Doria and Balanta are excellent. I don't think Terry and "Push higher up" ever go together.
 
I have had exactly the same problem with Chelsea!!! I thought it was just me. ive been pulling my hair out over this and tried all sorts as well but to no avail. its only been happening since the patch. got beat by qpr and newcatle in my last 2 games and all of their goals were scored this way.
 
little consoles, if you haven't got one I highly recommend getting one. Especially as they are now about half the price as when they first came out.\
