I'm Middlesbrough and promoted to the Premier League, and it's January at the moment (in the game).
Gary O'Neil, one of my key midfielders, well his contract runs out in the summer, and he's refusing to sign a new one, so should I cash in on him now or let him leave on a free?

Thanks.

id cash in personally but just keep trying to re sign him

if u need him badly hold onto him, maybe after season finishes he may re-sign the week before or so if your side do well in the league

Keep him, he may be the one to keep you in the Premier League and then if he does go on a free, you would be able to get a better player to replace him if your in the Premier League than you would if you get relegated back down to the Championship, and you never know he might suprise you and stay with you if you stay up, or go down for that matter.

I leave it until about a few weeks before it actually runs out, then I find hes willing to sign a new contract, at only slightly more of the wages hes on aswell.
I signed Kovacevic on a free on 6k, he then wanted 24k!!! Waited until it was nearly expired and then signed on for another 4 years at 8k. Hopefully this works for you.
