Lets say you have a wing back on your team. You tell that ****** to play sit wider. You instruct your team to play narrower.

What will he do?

I'd hop on and test it out myself, but i can't play FM until Monday.

I've always believed that instructions follow an order of importance.
  1. Personal Player Moves
  2. Player Instructions
  3. Team instructions

If he has a PPM that governs his shape (Movement PPM's like Hug touchline or dribble down left/right flank), he will pretty much ignore you instruction unless he has high teamwork.

If he has no personal instructions governing his shape, then he will look to follow the team's instructions.

Hope this helps.

Agree.

I've also noticed how contradicting instructions have a benefit on the longevity of your tactic, it takes the competition alot longer to 'suss you out'. It makes sense too.

Through my experience, WB's/FB's come in FAR too narrow on this edition no matter what you instruct. I've tried all sorts and the f*ckers always double up with the CB's and leave soooooo much space on the wings. It's actually my main frustration with this edition. Seems that your team naturally go more narrow when defending and the WB's/FB's just rush out to the wingers when they get the ball...usually too late

90% of the goals I concede are because of FB positioning. It might be the winger is left alone to pick out a cross, left alone in the box to score or left alone on the wing and cuts into score, but the FB's are s**t on this game. I've played with a few of the top teams on this game and so it's not a problem with the FB's having bad positioning stats or anything, it just seems something how the FB's have been programmed to act on this game.
