conversations not working?

I'm having an issue with 2015, when I have conversations/meetings it takes me to the correct page but there is no text besides the exit button. In previous versions (and I assume in this one) you normally get to actually talk to the player and select conversation options. Does anyone know a fix for this? The same thing happens with press, it will say so and so has a question for me but there is no question and no responses for me besides no comment. Starting to get really annoying when players have issues they want to discuss and I can't.

Custom skin? Either re-download the skin or try the default. Also try clearing your cache in preferences or maybe even verifying the integrity of your files in steam. Doing the latter may require you to download some files, if they're corrupt.

I'm using the default skin and have tried the integrity check as well. No idea why this doesn't work, I've never used a custom skin before. I'll try clearing the cache tonight.
