Decided to do a story and picked Corinthians based in Sao Paulo state Brazil

A bit of history
The club was founded in 1910 by five railway workers from the district of Bom Retiro, who became impressed by the performances of London-based club Corinthian Football Club, electing Miguel Battaglia as the club's first president. Since then, Corinthians became one of Brazil's most successful clubs, having won the Brasileirão on five occasions. Corinthians also contain in their laurels three Copa do Brasil trophies, one Supercopa do Brasil, two FIFA Club World Cup, one Copa Libertadores and one Recopa Sudamericana. They have also won the Paulistão 27 times and the Torneio Rio – São Paulo on five occasions, being the record-holder as the most successful club in those competitions.

I have been given a budget of 1.29 million pounds and 78000 pounds a week in wage budget with the requirement i win the sao paulo state championship and Brazilian league and reach the final of the copa libertadores

Key Players

Cassio

Decent goalkeeper and at 27 will be the starter for some time

attachment.php

Gil

Solid Centre Back and should marshal the defence

attachment.php

Ralf

Solid experienced CDM but at thirty will need replaced soon

attachment.php

Petros

Can play almost anywhere in the midfield should be decent

attachment.php

Jadson

Experienced AMC and should support the strikers well but is 31

attachment.php

Vagner Love

Experienced striker who was very in demand a few years ago

attachment.php

Solid team but there is a lot of age in the squad many will need replaced in a few years due to the lack of wingers I will play a narrow 4-4-2 diamond narrow attacking

Hot Prospects

Pedro Henrique

Good young CB could partner then replace Gil in years to come

attachment.php

Guilherme Arana

Young left back that should claim the position in years to come

attachment.php

Matheus Cassini

Young winger who can play on either side should be a quality player

attachment.php

Malcom

Young striker who should become lethal in years to come

attachment.php

Leo Jaba

Another quality attacker who should soon challenge for a place in the team

attachment.php

Pre Season and transfers to come
any feedback welcome

Transfers In

Due to a small budget and only getting 25% of sales most transfers are clause filled to offset the cost I also raised funds by selling parts of players to agents to raise funds

Eder Alvarez Balanta 3.4 million

3.4 million is a very cheap deal for such a good player who should lock down the centre back position for years to come and can also fill in at left back will partner Gil for now

attachment.php

Humam Tariq 150k

Young attacking midfielder signed for a very cheap fee that should be repaid many times over in the next few years but still has to develop to earn a starting spot

attachment.php

Renan Free Transfer

Brought in to provide depth at the goalkeeping position and could be a long serving back up

attachment.php

Matias Kranevitter 3.5 Million

Defensive midfielder brought in to back up then take over from Ralf in the holding role should prove to be a quality signing for a low fee
attachment.php

Transfers Out- Mainly loans and players contracts that are due up soon

One major transfer

Alexandre Pato 250k Sao Paulo

He was on loan until the end of 2016 and as we were going to pay 27k a week for the duration of the loan I sold him at way below value to get the money off the wage bill for space for signings

Pre Season

I only played 4 as the Sao Paulo state fixtures meant no challenging fixtures for a while

Corinthians 2 Libertidad 0
Jadson 61, 80
Two second half goals from Jadson gave me a win my first friendly which we dominated

asset.php

Corinthians 3 Santo Andre 1
Renato Augusto 43,87,90 - Gil og 20

A Renato Augusto hat trick gave us a late winner in a match we deserved to win dominating all of the stats and showing his ability

attachment.php

Velez 1 Corinthians 3
Hernan Toledo 45+1 - Renato Augusto 12, 70 Angel Romero 86

Renato Augusto continued to shine as he scored a brace in a good away win against Velez and young Angel Romero scored late on as we were outplayed but won

attachment.php

Corinthians 3 Botafogo 2

Petros 15 Gil 28 Vagner Love 89 - Cidinho 22 Diego Jardel 89

They scored a late equaliser but Vagner Love replied instantly but almost drawing against second division team is not good

attachment.php

Pre Season Thoughts: Won all our games which is good but the Botoafogo game is concerning.

Next up the Sao Paulo state and Copa Libertadores playoff game that is a must win

As always any feedback is appreciated

Selling Pato for 250K seems awfully cheap!

Best of luck with this though you've made some good signings.

Cracking pre-season too...

Yeah they refused to pay any more than that and I didn't want to use up a decent chunk of my wage bill for two year paying him to hurt our title bid.

February Results

The Sao Paulo state championship has 4 groups of 5 teams. You play all the teams that aren't in your group and the top two in each group go into the quarter finals with the four teams with the least points relegated.

Last season fourth division Ituano FC embarrassed Corinthians by beating them to second place to knock them out in the groups Ituano went on to beat other top division teams as they won the tournament so an improvement is necessary.

We also drew the Columbian team Once Caldes in the Copa Libertadores playoff

Marilla 0 Corinthians 8

Luciano 14, 31 Renato Augusto 18 Fabio Santos 20 Edilson 25 (pen) Gil 35 Elias 63 Vagner Love 86

A great win in my first game as manager 8 goals and 7 scorers but Renato Augusto picked up a hamstring injury ruling our best player in pre season out for at least 3 months

attachment.php

COPA LIBERTADORES Playoff Leg 1

Corinthians 1 Once Caldes 0
Luciano 29

It wasn't a good performance but 21 year old Luciano scored his third goal in two games as we snuck a win

attachment.php

Botafogo 0 Corinthians 2

Luciano 33 Vagner Love 44

A good win with both strikers scoring and another clean sheet

attachment.php

Copa Libertadores Playoff Leg 2

Once Caldes 1 Corinthians 1

Jaime Sierra 45 - Emerson Sheik 85

A late goal by 36 year old Emerson Sheik saved us from the lottery of Pens. which it goes straight to after 90 mins

attachment.php

XV 0 Corinthians 3

Vagner Love 6, 14 Edu Dracena 72

Vagner Love scored twice and we saw the game out from their with CB Edu Dracena scoring from corner

attachment.php

Linese 0 Corinthians 3

Vagner Love 12 47 78 last two pens

Not good enough gave away a pen at 1-0 that was saved but as they hadn't scored or got a point I wanted more

attachment.php

Portugesa 0 Corinthians 3

Vagner Love 40, 86 Emerson Shiek 75

Good win Vagner Love in great form 7 goals in 3 games hoping he can keep it up

attachment.php
