Ok, I've recently made a new game with Everton which I'm currently into the 3rd season and someone who has puzzled me is Fellaini. With his attributes he should be an absolute monster on corners, but in reality he don't do as great as other smaller/lower stat players.

The corner routine I'm using is the common:
Gk - Default
2 - Stay back (fullbacks)
1 - Attack near post (fellaini)
Rest - Lurk

(might be an exploit routine to some, in either case I'd still like your input over corners, cheers)

Fellaini - 6'4, Jumping 17, Heading 19, Bravery 18, Anticipation 17, Strength 20

What am I missing? why do smaller DC's such as Lucio or Rodwell yield greater results over a season from corners?

What would you guys say are the most important and optimal attributes to yield goals from corners?

I would welcome any input because I really think I'm missing something here, cheers.

Firstly you have to remove 2" from his height 'cause of his hair.

Well think about it, you've got one player constantly doing the same thing and the others with the option to take up knitting while the corner comes in. If a manager or in our case 'the game' were to analyse your routines it wouldn't be too hard to spot the obvious threat and mark him tightly, using their tallest player, threat over.

Personally I use my 3rd highest as my intended target for a corner, favouring using the 2 tallest to distract the opposition. For example my usual corner set-up is; aim for near post, both sides. My tallest player is set to attack far post, dragging their first choice marker away from my target zone, my second tallest player I instruct to stand on far post, for the same reason.

I also make sure I have a proficient long range player lurking outside the area, I have a strong player challenging the keeper, and a player with good heading coming from deep. I do not use a short option as the player is wasted and better served in the box, I also do not use a near post flick on either, as it is drawing more attention to my target zone.

I haven't got the save game loaded atm for a screenshot, but N. Otamendi was my 3rd highest scorer in my Leeds game with 16 for the season, 15 of those from corners using the above. Hope you see what I aim to do with my corners and it works for you too.

Why did you put near post??
try this.

put your Fellaini on 'attack far post'
your second best header to 'stand on far post'
there other 'lurking outside area'

aim your crosses to 'far post'

See if he can score that way, mine certainly did.

hmm I think you've hit the nail on the head there Gestalt, Fellaini must be going up against their tallest DC while someone like lucio is having the easy option due to 'mark tallest' not picking him up. I'm going to pay more attention to who's marking my players during games to confirm this but it sounds pretty spot on, cheers.

@Scchiiz, apparently last patch made far post corners inconsistant because they were too strong, I'll have to look at my corner setup mind on both counts.

With far post corners you still get a ridicilous amount of goals, my CB scored 6 goals in 3 games, first game 3 goals and 1 assist, everything from corners.

I use mixed delivery, CBs to attack near post and attack far post, strong player to challenge keeper, 2 players stay back, 1 attack from deep 1 lurking, other go forward, does not use any glitch but scores many goals from corners, sometimes near post, sometimes far post or even the player challenging the keeper from rebounds or header.

Actually I think one of the biggest problems of this game is too many goals from corners, both for you and for your opponent. Compare the amount of goals scored from corners to real life, huge difference.
