Crash dump when submitting squad numbers!

When it asks me for squad numbers for the new season I get a crash dump, I know how to fix it, delete the settings folder but will that mean I can't keep my saved game, it's just because I have had an awesome pre season and got lots of good players and I don't want to have to do it all again?

any help would be appreciated thanks :S
