Crash on startup

Hi, my FM12 has been working fine for a good few months now, but in the last few days when i try to start the game up, it goes through the intro, then after the screen with the licensed leagues on (football league etc) the game simply closes down without any message. I believe it crashes right when the main menu is about to pop up. Any advice? Or should i try and reinstall the game and if i do reinstall, will i lose my save games?

Strange that, have you installed anything recently that may conflict with FM??

Not that i can think of no, haven't installed anything at all apart from this one other game but i dont think that would conflict with it, i did have to do some stuff regarding the .net framework, flash player and direct x stuff while installing that game, would that conflict with football manager?
