A 4231 formation for example can be a dream come true for a striker, with three men feeding him....In that scenario, I would use AP(a or s), or IFs on the wings, and AMs or APs in AMC position and use a tall poacher for a striker. Those three would feed him, he would score. A lot. That wouldn't require CMs at all, or if you want to use them, they wouldn't have to be creative. One on defend duty, to brake up attacks, and one on support to connect offense and defense. Sidebacks either FBa or WB(s or a) or CWBa. A sweeper keeper would also be of use, but isn't necessary. If wondering about TI's, flexible or fluid would be ideal to create that movement by relying on duties. If you have a squad capable of it, fluid might be better in terms of asking wingers to track back and help their sidebacks. Limited defenders on defend and use of offside trap is recommended. I would recommend retaining possession, as you will have more men in front of ball, and will lose possession often, and I would also recommend a high line and agressive defending and higher tempo aswell, to not let opponent have room to breathe). Width can be wider to focus passess on your wide players and create space for poacher to run onto, or narrower to make your AMC the main playmaker. Speaking of creating space, defensive line shouldn't be much higher. Closing down also shouldn't be on much, as your formation has great pitch coverage, and has a man to press opposition everywhere, so that much pressing isn't needed, and much higher tempo would perhaps just make you lose possession to much. You could perhaps use run at defence, roaming and creative freedom to brake down best defences and score plenty, or if you don't have a squad capable of that, stick to position and be more disciplined to create those triangles and keep possession better. For LLM, you might even get away with structured or highly structured approach.
