Manager: Jordan Rollinson

Dover Athletic have today appointed rookie manager Jordan Rollinson as their new manager. The 25 year old manager has been given a one year contract worth 750 pounds per week. In his opening press conference he made a massive statement, saying he was going to take the club to be Premiership. Despite laughs from the journalists, Rollinson looked deadly serious, claiming he will make the club the greatest in the world. Will he be able to live up to that statement? Only time will tell.

Pre-Season

Pre-season2013_zpsbea60191.png

Pre-season did not go well at all for new manager Jordan Rollinson and his Dover side. They had played four games in their pre-season friendlies. They had games against Wycombe, Welling, Barnet and Cardiff Under 21s. Unfortunately, they were unable to get a single win in these games, drawing one and losing the remaining three.

Dover 1 - 1 Wycombe

Things started well for Dover, with Nathan Elder scoring after the ninth minute to give his team a one-nil lead. McClure then got an equalizer for Wycombe, but neither team was able to break the deadlock afterwards

Welling 1 - 0 Dover

A poor game from Dover saw them fall to a one-nil defeat against Welling

Dover 0 - 1 Barnet

Another poor game, and another one-nil loss

Dover 0 - 4 Cardiff U21s

And the final game of the pre-season ended in a crushing defeat. Cardiff U21s showed their superiority and got four goals

Dover Athletic have today announced four new signings. Irish left back Fred Murray joined on a free transfer after being released from Luton two seasons ago. Jesse Waller-Lassen also joined on a free transfer after being released from Bishop's Stortford. The German winger came from the youth set-up at Tottenham. Striker Kurtis Guthrie joins Dover on loan from Welling, while Pelayo Gomez-Pico joins on a free transfer after being released from Histon.

Pre-season Predictions.

Will the start of the season just around the corner, I have decided to do a little section about my predictions for the season. With odds of 10-1, we are the third favorites to win the league. I believe we can go one step better, and finish in second place, and win promotion via the play-offs. I would also like to reach the second round of the FA Cup and also the third round of the FA trophy.

I think the best team to watch out for will be Eastleigh. They are favorites to win the league, and if striker Stuart Fleetwood finds good form over the season, they will be right up there at the end.

At the other end of the scale, I can see Dorchester really struggling. They dont have any real quality, and I can see them being relegated.

Good Luck mate. I coach the Dover Chairman's grandson ans see him some weekends!! Good set up they've got at Dover. :D

August Update

It was not the best start to the season, having lost the opening two games. A two-nil loss away in our opening game against Gosport was a very disappointing start, followed by a three-one home defeat against Ebbsfleet. We then started to pick things up though, with a two-nil victory against Concord Rangers, followed by a draw against Whitehawk and a one-nil win against Hayes & Yeading.

Igore and Pearce got the goals for Gosport in the opening game of the season. It was a poor performance all around by Dover, with their highest rating just 6.7.

Another very poor game by us, but a few players picked up their games. Guthrie and Carew both had good games, but they were unable to prevent a three-one loss.

Our first win of the season came against Concord Rangers, in the form of a two-nil home win. It did take some time to break the deadlock, but Ademola got the opening goal after seventy five minutes, and then Nathan Elder doubled the lead six minutes later.

We came very close to another loss, in another game which took over seventy minutes for the deadlock to be broken. Sam Gargan got the opening goal for Whitehawk, before an injury time equalizer from Tom Wynter ensured the game ended a draw.

Another home win put us on a small unbeaten streak. Once again the deadlock took a long time to break, but Tommy Murphy eventually did, leaving us with a one-nil win.

So yeah.....I got sacked. The one time I was actually really up for a story.

I will be starting a new one soon, no idea who as though. If anyone has any thoughts, let me know

Sorry to hear you got sacked mate.

What about looking at Boavista, Vicenza or similar. A fallen giant that used to be competing at the highest level but now has to work its way up from the bottom. Allows you to build your own legacy again, but in a different country! :)
