I am second season with crewe in the Championship(20th place) and AJ Leitch Smith developped great. score 1 goal per 2 games. with a team that is not that good. I make a lot of goals, but they are scoring much to me.
anyway:

Striker:
Guidetti(cheap sometimes), Billy Mckay, and you maybe could sign Lago Aspas cheap.
CB: Look at the big clubs for on loan players and cheap awesome players they don't want anymore.
