CSKA Moscow Challenge
After reading through the Football Manager forum stories section, i have noticed there aren't much Eastern European managerial games on going. I have decided to challenge myself with 2005 UEFA Cup winners CSKA Moscow. Apart from the quarter final success in this years Champions League, CSKA haven't continued they're European conquest or domestic success. My aim will be to take the Russian Premier Division side into Europe every season and improve on each years success/failures!
Europe
When it comes to putting a Russian side on the European Competitions map, i want to enter the Champions League each year. Although, the first few seasons i may struggle to compete in the latter stages of the ECC, i will expect nothing less than to fall into the Europa League and will be expecting my side to chalenge for the honour! This will be a tough ask as it's hard to attract big names to the Russian Premier League. However, if i can get the players in mind early enough whilst young, i can hopefully mature them into star players that will match my ambitions!
Domestic
Domestically i will be looking to build a side that regularly wins trophies and dominates Russian football! This will be a tough ask, as like i said previous, it's hard to attract big names to the Russian League. The only way to overcome this, is to compete every year in Europes premier competition or win the Europa League early on!
Manager Policies
My manager policies include buying mainly Russian players. There is alot of young Russian players who are good enough to help my quest for European glory. Most signings will be in the younger ages bracket too..... Hopefully build a young side that can stay together for seasons to come. However, i no keeping hold of my main assets wont be easy when the big European clubs come chapping. No new signing will be recieving more than 20k per week in my first two seasons.... Financial stability is essential. After the 1st season, i'll be retaining the two Brazilians Wagner Love and Danny Carvalho who are on loan in Brazil and Qatar which is really annoying! I want them back but there is no recall clause in they're loan contracts.

Updates as soon as i can..... Hope use follow!

Current Squad
The current squad at CSKA is too big with foreign personel. I have terminated the loans of three young players whose stats aren't anywhere near good enough for what i want to achieve! Im hopefull of keepeing Serbian star Krasic at the club.... He is a class act, however, if someone is to offer silly money where i may be able to strengthing in 2 or 3 other positions, i'll seriously consider it!

Signings
My first signing has been young Russian talent,Roman Yemeljanov. 16Year old from Ukrainian side Shakhtar.

I have also signed young Scottish Centre back Danny Wilson from Rangers for a fee of £3million. His stats are brilliant and he will become a massive part of my side. However, he doesn't join untill the start of next season!

Ive always been interested in Russian football so i will follow :)

Cheers mate.... I'll update my friendlys tonight! Shame Carvalho and Love are on loan elsewhere.... They're stats would tear the Russian League inside out!

Cheers for following! Any advice is welcome....

Good shout big man..... A striker is definately needed! I've got a player on loan from Kiev in Ukraine.... He's been class for me! Got an agreed price of £10million though.... Don't have those sort of finances!

Only got about £5million left.... Sold alot of players to recoup what i've spent on the two young talents! Will upload my outgoings just shortly!

I never buy players over monthly installments..... More likely to lose money at the end of each month. It's another of my tranfer policies!

Outgoings
I have managed to raise more transfer funds by selling on bit players who i don't see being regular first team memebers. I managed to raise £3.2million from the sale of Rignashevich to Athletico Madrid! Althout he has decent stats... His 20k a week wages are now no longer with me, pluse, he is 29 and i've brought in the young player from Shakhtar to replace him on 5k per week!

I also sold Oddiah.... The Nigerian left for the English Premiership, joining Stoke for £1million! Another player i was glad to get off the books!

Be careful when signing so many foreign players. This includes foreign players from countries like England, France, Spain etc. I hate the rules. :@

i will follow this, they are my favourite russian team, good luck mate :D

Cheers mate..... I'll be updating later on tonight!

Im not wanting to sign foreign personel! Im looking to bring in young Russians mainly as big foreign players are hard to attract to the Russian Premier Division!

Hope you follow though....

Pre Season Matches
After a queit start in the first transfer window as CSKA Moscow manager, i had friendly matches that would give my test a reasonable test, with lots of matches in a short space of time. This allows my players to gain match fitness as well as being pushed hard on the training field! I was unbeating in all 7 games, winning 7 out of 7, only conceding two goals throughout! Here are my results......
Saturday 21/1/09
Chernomorets 1-3 CSKA Moscow

Wednesday 25/1/09
Ural 0-3 CSKA Moscow

Saturday 28/1/09
Loco 0-2 CSKA Moscow

Saturday 10/2/09
Akademik 1-3 CSKA Moscow

Tuesday 12/2/09
Beroe 0-4 CSKA Moscow

Saturday 28/2/09
Loko (Sofia) 0-4 CSKA Moscow
Not the toughest opposition i no, however, it's important to get the team moral and confidence up. In Russia, the Russian Premier Division winners and Russian Cup winners start the season against one another in the Russian Super Cup. I will be playing Ruben in the 80,000 all seater Luzhunki stadium for the first trophy of the season! This stadium recently held the all English Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester United!

Updates coming soon....

March Update

Russian Super Cup Final
Rubin 2-2CSKA MOSCOW(Rubin win 5-4 on pens)
A great way to start the season, playing in a cup final in the national stadium.... However, wasn't so great for my CSKA Moscow side as i went down 5-4 on penalties after a tight 2-2 draw with Rubin! Mark Gonzalez equalised just before half time then Guilherme put my side 2-1 up but with 10minutes to go in normal time, Rubin got a well deserved equaliser!

Opening League match
Saturday 15/3/09
FC Terek 1-1 CSKA Moscow
A very poor start to the league campaign against one of Russia's 'minow' sides! I just couldn't find the finishing touch after creating numerous chances and deserved more than a point! Just hope this doesn't end up costing me towards the end of the season, as i can't see the other big clubs struggling here! Guilherme equalised on the 18th minute and it was pure domination from me from that point! Easy to see im desperate on a striker and need Vagner Love back asap or a replacement striker!

22/3/09
CSKA Moscow 4-1 Spartak Nalchik
A magnificent individual performance from my star man Milos krasic. The Serbian bagged a hatrick and grabbed an assist also, setting up Japanese midfielder Keisuke Honda. The perfect way to start my home campaign infront of a sell out 18000 crowd! The fans were jubilant after this result.

Got one of many derbys up next, playing away to Lokomotiv Moscow..... 3 Points is essential! Get a good victory over the rivals early breads confidence and pleases the fans!
