Current and potential ability decreasing

I just started my first game with man utd and now I'm in november 2011 when I realised that that the current ability and potential ability of some of my players is decreasing: Darren Fletcher had a 3.5 golden stars rating a the beginning and now a 3 stars rating, the potential of Danny Welbeck decreased a whole star, Young has only 2.5 stars left, but also my new players decrease, like 18-year old Henriksen with a 4 star potential, who decreased to 3.5 stars potential.
I haven't played since, because I'm afraid they might drop even further...
Is there something that I have to do? Do I have to change their training programme and if so, in what way?

have u got any new coaches? u could be looking at their ratings as interpreted by a diff coach to the previous ratings

No, I haven't contracted any new ones, you think it's based only on the interpretation of the coaches?
