is it smart to cut down on the amount of players i have in my squad? right now, i have like 4 or 5 defensive midfielders. would it be a good idea to cut down to just having a starter and a back up? what is the best way to do this?

Depends what competitions you're involved in. At the moment I'm in CL, CC, FA Cup, Prem and just had a champions shield match, so i ensure I had 3 DM's. I like to ensure I have 3 DM's, but also more handy if they can play in multi-positions.

i wait til the end of the season, cause during in your backroom meetings your assistant changes players status. Everyone who has been made back up i usually sell, but add money on the asking price just to make sure.

i am in my first season with torino in the serie B. My goal is for this squad is youth developement, so if i cut down to 2 or 3 per position, i can scout young players that will eventually be as good or better than the players currently in the squad. i always have the option to buy someone during the transfer window if need be.

it depends on what formation u use.

if i go with a 4-2-4 (or 4-4-2), i only have 1 CM that does the tackles and the other that creates. i use players like Yann, song, or like rodwell in that underlined position once for a long term first choice .
if ur using a 4-2-3-1, the i'll have 2 cms that create chances (like cesc, wilshere, or my creative player like pasotre, ganso) and 1 cm that tackle same like i said before.

but why do u have like 4 DM ?. and do u use them every match. oO)

i just started the save. i havent even played a friendly yet.

if your intending on building a team for the future then sell the older players who no longer have the quality to be a dead cert for a starting position. 3 players per position is usually about right. your starter, back up then a young prospect who can be played in cups etc and improve

if there is any young players keep them and loan them out. you could train them to play somwere else
