okay first thread but im always using this service and has helped me for year create great teams im an experienced fm user but im needing a little help.

after managing to win the npower championship with ipswich i purchased some true bargains (transfer listed players)

Diego (werder bremen) 6mil
Adebayor (man city) loan fee 200k
Poulsen (liverpool) free loan
Zhirkov (chelsea) 2.9m

five games in and the tactics i used so efficiently in the championship are not working at all i haven't scored and have conceded 3+ per game my formation is 4-1-2-2-1 and my tactics are set up to control games.

so my question is can i not control the game just because the game considers me underdogs or is it simply that my team might not be good enough for the premiership ?
 
you cant expect to control games in the premier league when youve just gained promotion from the championship.

thats what i mean though why cant i ?

i t shouldn't be just because i have just been promoted because my team is better than the likes of bolton fulham and so on
 
You need to spend some time in the premiership to pick up better players (you will get larger budjets for transfers due to larger revenues) so over a few years of this you will have a chance.

And you got 4 new players, that is almost half of your first team. This means it could take them a long time to gel and work together, plus your old tactic that got your promoted might not be suited to your new players.
 
Not being funny.......but looking at your squad...I would not think your team are any better then the likes of the teams just mentioned.....But putting that to one side.....your new additions have never played with each other......and the epl is at a different class to the championship....I would adapt to a more counter attacking tactic...for the first couple of seasons imo.
 
I think that you need to buy some better players and you need to change your tactic.You have to use Diego as AMC(advanced playmaker/attack) because if you continue to use him as MC he will play like Van Der Sar in attack
Of course,that's just my opinion...

Try 4-3-2-1. It's a better balance between attack and defense.

thanks im going to try this one out because i have just managed to get afellay for 3mil from barca so him and diego in attacking midfield fingers crossed
 
play a more counter than attacking. look to keep possesion and counter when they miss there chance
