Hello everybody, I read a lot of everyones manager stories and really enjoy them, so i best have a crack at it myself. Please feel free to comment on how it looks and works, I am really keen to use this as a learning curve to when I do further stories in the future.

To begin with I needed to create my profile, now I tend to be very imaginative when creating a manager and have had a vast number of made up coaches in the past (this is all down to me finding it boring and unrealistic using my own name and favoured club). However to just make it more interesting for you lot I have decided to use an ex-pro who is no longer in the world of football (basically if you hover over a clubs icons name and it doesn't allow you to click.)

Now the profile I have chosen to take up is Darren Anderton. Anderton (or some people like to call him sick note) is an ex-England international and had a successful playing career, mostly for Tottenham.

To keep the storyline realistic, Anderton will have already gained all the coaching badges as I will start at a Championship club. Anderton born in the south, also played for Portsmouth and Bournemouth, and as I am a Bournemouth fan and Anderton is a club icon I will start as AFC Bournemouth's manager.

TRANSFER ACTIVITY

View attachment 280937 View attachment 280936

My first signing as manager is Joe Dudgeon, a left-back from Hull City. At the moment he is not as good as my first choice left back but within a year or two will expect to see him pushing for the starting position. My next signing is a loan signing and I visited my old club, Spurs, and acquired the young winger Grant Ward. He is not expected to make an impact really within the year put hopefully i can see some of his potential and sign him up on a full transfer next season.

With Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall leaving the club I needed to bring in my first ever assistant manager. I wanted someone experienced in the coaching side of the game as this is my first job, so I brought in ex-Spurs player Clive Allen as my number two. I also released my chief scout as I felt he did not have the right attributes to be trusted with my small transfer budget (Around 1.6m), David Hamilton joins the club in his place.

We are predicted a mid-table finish, but I know with the right start and momentum we can certainly challenge for the play-off places.

PRE-SEASON

View attachment 280611

A good pre-season for me with four wins out of four, the players look in high confidence after their highest ever league finish last season.

View attachment 280610

These five players are ones who particularly impressed me, I have an interesting decision ahead of me whether to start Wilson or Rantie. Both are inform however I don't feel they both will be able to play together, I will let them prove me wrong.

View attachment 280606

I really feel I can get my side into the play-offs this season, we have great squad depth and one or two fantastic players. I will be giving it my all in the FA Cup as I want to have the fans on board, however like the big clubs will play some youngsters and fringe players were possible in the Capital One Cup.

SEASON 14/15

AUGUST

Sky Bet Championship

First game disappointment as we lose to Huddersfield, started brightly but we never really created anything whilst we were lucky to be only beat by one by a good defensive display. Surman is out for 3 weeks which is better than first feared.

With eleven changes made to the starting line-up after the opening defeat to Huddersfield, I was pleased with the reaction from the players all be it beating a lower league opposition. We has a shaky start as Crawley had a goal disallowed but we romped to victory with a Rantie hat-trick. A good debut for Dudgeon as well i the game and Ward made a debut from the bench. We draw Charlton away, in the next round.

Much better performance from the lads, on top from the first whistle. Pitman had a goal disallowed, and we needed Matt Ritchie's 30-yard free-kick to take the points. Dominating, but lacking that finishing touch, Rantie earned a start and couldn't get involved. Charlie Daniels is out with a bruised elbow for a week, Dudgeon is set to make his first league appearance.

A slow start from us was boosted when Reid put the ball in his own net, from then we came out in the second half and dominated and looked class. Arter even missed a penalty and we still looked comfortable. Defence is impressing every week, however Dudgeon picked up a knock and will be out for 10 days.

The least I say the better, seemed to control the whole game and then the defence fell apart half way through the first half. Back to the old problems finishing, we had 29 shots this game. None of my strikers seem to want to put the ball in the net. I have been playing 4-4-2 but may create a Plan B for away games. (By the way Blackburn's badge is a custom made one I for a previous save.)

Angry, very very angry. Whole team bar O'Kane and Rantie were poor and never gave us a chance. We go out but more importantly the players who were given a chance in this competition have shown their true colours and will have to work hard and play well off the bench to be in my plans. Rantie will start next match and hopefully score a goal! Two hat-tricks for him this season already.

Wow what a response, change of formation to a 4-3-3 and a instant result, winning so well against a tough team in the division. Everyone played their part, including Surman who really turned up against his old team. A good way to end a progressive month.

AFC Bournemouth's Fans Player of the Month
STEVE COOK

A confident string of performances from the young centre-back has helped his side to three clean sheets when involved. The fans voted Cook who was just beat Tommy Elphick and Matt Ritchie to the award.

SEPTEMBER

Confident performance from my lads, switched back to the 4-4-2 at home and controlled the game creating a lot of chances. Arter and Surman were very good in the centre of the park and we did well to win the game against a spirited Rotherham side. One down side is Arter's injury ad he will be out for 6 weeks with a broken arm.

After finding ourselves one nil down, I am disappointed we couldn't take all three points. A spirited comeback capped off with a Ritchie screamer. One worry I have, all four strikers do not want to score!

Sounding like a broken record, all the possession no end quality. I do feel performances are important early in the season though and I am confident we will be in the play-offs this year.

Two excellent goals took all three points, O'Kane who was in for Gosling, scored a goal similar to his wonderful strike against the Latics in the FA Cup a couple of years ago. Kermorgant curled in a great free-kick to put us two nil up and looked sure of the points from then on. Kermorgant however will be out for the next match with a bruised rib.

Great win, reverted to the 4-5-1 we played against Norwich and yet again it worked wonders. It was very important to get the first goal and we had a good amount of chances including Wilson hitting the post. Played on the counter after the substitute Smith's goal and it worked well winning a penalty to win the game. Another good month.

More impressive performances from our young centre back as he continues to be the spine in our team, a couple of goals here and there make him the fans choice for player of the month.

Happy with the month in all with 3 victories, 1 draw and 1 defeat. If our strikers start scoring more than we can certainly include ourselves in a promotion race.
