Data Editor Won't WORK?

Hi all, my data editor won't work. My game is loaded, i have duplicate saves etc. But when i try and load it says 'First you need to load your save game in FM'

Probs becuase you dont load your save game into the data editor

How do you mean? It says Load game, it's worked for me before, but not recently:s

the data editer wont work for me either when i clik on it it says "this application has failed 2 start because the application configgeration is incorrect. re installing it my help 2 fix this problem"

does any1 no how 2 fix this and also is this y i cant install the new update 2 the game .
