Defenders

I am in my second season playing in the MLS with the Seattle Sounders. I am continually frustrated with my defenders, they simply back of and back of till the opposing player is in the box, they never ever tackle! they simply let the opposing player run right past them, every time! I have gone into advanced setting in my team settings and individual settings and set my back 4 to tackle aggressively, press more, be very defensive, etc. I have changed everything i can to make them play some ******* defense, nothing is working. Is this just how the game is? Is there a tactic or setting I can change to make them play defense? At the moment, i have changed my settings so heavily in favor of defense, i am not creating any offensive chances! Help and Suggestions welcome

firstly no need to swear, but before the game set markers on the other teams players such as tight marking and show onto weak foot i would do this for the strikers and midfield players and maybe the full backs depending who they are and if they get down the wing a lot

tell ur players to " dive into tackles" ... how... player interacton > defense > dive into tackles...
