Hi all,

I have been playing this game for a ridiculous amount of time and have made myself a few tactics.. Although scoring is not an issue it's that i find that my defence can make some absolutely stupid errors that, lets face it, a sunday league defender could handle with the utmost ease..

So i was wandering what you lot do on how you defend.. i know once i'm up by 2 or 3 i set myself into a counter mentality an i tend to set the philosophy to rigid once that happens but still i concede these idiotic goals..

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance :)

Be careful when switching philosophies mid-match. If you're starting with fluid and then switch to rigid, you may have too many players on attack duty (I don't know your tactics). Leaving them split from the defense, leaving you open.

Id agree with this 100%, its a huge thing to ask of your players to completely change the way they go about playing football. Keeping fluid will ensure that your forward players help out with defense more.

I have 3 players set to attack (AML/R, ST) so i should keep the fluidity at fluid? what about the counter? and should i change the wingers to support when keeping my lead?

Also thank you for helping lads i will take these tips on board :D

I would keep one of your wide attackers set to attack, and the other set to support. Counter is initiated automatically when you regain the ball and the opposition have committed players forward, except on the contain mentality I think.
