defensive help

hi, I've just started a career with man city and spent most of my money on defence, signing chielini, aly cissohko and sakho with dzeko to partner tevez up front. however despite all this, and playing very defensive tactics against the better teams, I can't stop conceding. conceded 2 goals against tottenham in the first 10 minutes with them just passing to a player on the edge of the box and that player (both robbie keane and van der vaart) simply turning and firing in from acres of space despite being surrounded by chiellini and kolo toure. I'm even playing de jong and yaya toure as holding midfielders and the passes keep getting through.

Any suggestions?

You could try setting your defense up using the Nike defense system. Do do this you need to change you player's mentalities to the following:

GK: 7
DC (Cover): 6
DC (Stopper): 8
FBs:10
MCd/DM:9

You may also want to assign roles to your central defenders. One as a stopper and one as a cover.

give it time, the team will take some time to adjust to playing with each other every week.
