Football Manager 2011 Demo

I am still undecided on whether I am going to enjoy this game or not. I suppose once I get used to it, things will get better, however results aren't the big issue for me. While I am not doing well with my Newcastle United team, my aim would at least be to keep them out of the relegation zone until the end of the demo rolls around. I like some features of the game, the match engine is an obvious problem, but I have many major faults.

Pro's:

The match engine is a big improvement for me. The players move smoothly, the crosses are more realistic and efficient and the addition of details to the fans and stadium, make it a very nice viewing experience.

I feel that the game offers more realism than the last edition, with the inclusion of agents, a more interactive board and players and a lot more freedom to make your mark as a manager.

Con's:

The one-on-one chances missed rate, is verging on the ridiculous. Maybe it is more realistic, but some of us enjoy the bigger score lines and fantastic goals that Football Manager 2010 offered. Explain to me how Jonás can make a silky run from the halfway line, only to miss from 6 yards, hitting it straight at the goalie's legs. It rarely happens.

I would much prefer just to receive news from Newcastle, not the whole of England. I do not care that Gerard Houllier is under pressure, or that Bruce hates Wenger. I am sure there is a filter but I really don't like that.

Overall, the demo is OK. It is too big at 1.9GB and makes it quite a slow experience, even on a high powered computer like mine.

6/10.

All I've learnt is that my laptop is far from good enough. :/

just finished demo as man utd arsenal didnt lose game from aug to jan average 4 goals game very unlikely i think:O

In my opinion, Arsenal are probably a bit too good. I'm at the end of November on the demo, having played somewhere between 15 and 20 games, and I've only lost 1 (against West Brom coincidently) and drawn 2.
Either they are too good or I've put together a good tactic at the first time of trying, which I think is unlikely
