Deportivo :

Deportivo de la Coruna used to Spanish giants. Having had 5 consecutive top 3 place finishes from 1999 – 2004, They have since slipped into deeper troubles and gave twice been relegated and re-promoted to Liga BBVA. After once again making it back to Liga BBVA, the Spanish fallen giants have been left manager less until now when unknown newbie, Xavier Enriquez was appointed. The board announced the appointment of the man and believed he was the right man for the job as he was ambitious and enthusiastic. The stand out moment was that he announce he came with a plan. A plan for greatness.

I will be trying to return Deportivo to their former glory. This will be my 5 year plan:

Year 1: Avoid relgation
Year 2: Mid-Table
Year 3: Champions league
Year 4: Title Challenge
Year 5: Champions

I hope everyone enjoys (Especially Lippo)

Should be interesting to read, you'll need a bit of luck for the first year or so i'd say

Also, that sounds a lot like Brendn's manager name for his 5 Year Plan. :P

Inspiration? :)

It was a big inspiration but didnt realise until now how similar the names were. Will change it now so he doesnt think im 100% copying him

Haha, I'm more flattered than anything. I'm glad that something I've written ahas motivated someone to contribute to the forum :D I have two manager personas that I call on when playing FM.

Javier Gonzales Mendez (Liverpool: The Five Year Plan & Javier Gonzales Mendéz): A kid who grew up in the slums of Barcelona one day dreaming of playing fro the club. Deeply influenced by La Masia and the youth-first policy of his home town club

Richie Carter (Kia Ora: We all start small): An Irish/New Zealand boy who grew up in Sligo after his parents emigrated to Ireland for work. He's deeply passionate about growing the reputation of New Zealand Football and dreams of Managing them in the World Cup one day.

I invented them for writing stories on the form as I like to role play in-game and try to think about what he'd do given the scenario. It helps me write about the story from their perspective. :)

To Brendn (Won't let me reply to your previous post)

Your stories have been hugely inspirational to me and many others. Your ability to create such in depth stories about certain teams and people is just exceptional. Your talent for this is hugely admirable and I would be honored to have a story anywhere near a tenth as good as yours.

After watching the teams in training sessions and reading over the team report, I felt we were solid enough in scoring goals and that we would be able to cope this season defensively so I decided to add more depth and potential to the Midfield and that's exactly what I did. Securing Porto Central Midfielder, Ruben Neves on a season long loan while also snapping up promising young star Nabil Fekir from Olympique Lyonnais for a deal of around 7.5 Million.

I had no idea what to expect from our pre-season. I had just got to know how the boys played and about their preferred styles. My tactic hadn't quite sunk in yet either so it was always going to be a challenge but that what pre-season is for. Testing out game plans, strategies and even players.

We walked away from Pre-season with 4 wins under our belt thanks to victories over Deportivo "B", Negreira, Villables and Laracha. Scoring a comfortable 9 goals and only conceding 1 in our triumphs. However we had one downfall. FC Oss (Lippo related clubs flying everywhere). A narrow 2-1 defeat saw us lose our chance at a perfect pre-season but the boys showed spirit and passion throughout to leave me hopeful before the season start. The prospect of Oriol Riera excites me as he will be the man to lead the line and he popped up with a healthy 5 goals from 4 starts.

Here we are the big day. Let's go...

A hugely disappointing start in truth. We were left stunned by how clinical Granada were and in the end some of the players ended getting frustrated. To the extend that half time sub, Gerard Moreno got himself a straight red. Ridiculous but we need to bounce back from this.
