Guy appointed Devizes manager

Devizes FC have appointed newbie manager Kieran Guy as their new manager.

Devizes currently play in the English Western League Division One.

Last season they were relegated from the English Western League Premier Division, and Kieran Guy is expected to take them back up there.

The club made headline in 2003 by making it to the 1/4 finals of the FA Vase

If we are going around correcting people then isn't it Devizes Town FC? Not simply Devizes FC. Either way, I like seeing things about teams Kingstonian have knocked out of the FA Cup before so I'll follow :)

An relatively good pre-season won more than we lost, and it did the job of getting the players match-fit for the season

Obviously we had no transfer budget so had to get players on frees and only on amateur contracts as we're an amateur club, but i'm pleased with the signings i managed to get and believe i can get promotion at the end of the season.

First Half

A very poor start to the season with a very poor performance from the lads. It started with the first 20 minutes being dominated by us. All that changed when Almondsbury changed their tactic and suddenly had the upper hand in the match. I was lucky to get to half time still level.

Second Half

We came back out with more of the same we were completely dominated in every area of the pitch. Then a decisive point in the match came when Almondsbury were awarded a penalty which never was. SCORED. ALMONDSBURY 1 - 0 DEVIZES. Then almost immediately debutant scored Ben Crockwell scores. GOAL. ALMONDSURY 2 - 0 DEVIZES. Then suddenly a bit too little too late we came alive chance after chance after chance sadly could never capitalize on our chances until the death of the match we got a consolation goal. GOAL/FINAL SCORE. ALMONDSBURY 2 - 1 DEVIZES
