Hi guys, This is my first story. Been looking at a lot and seen some really nice layouts that i want to attempt. This is more of a story rather than the typical reports. Anyway i hope you enjoy !
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a long, decorated career in goals for my beloved Bayern Munchen. Watching my hero's surrender the title to Dortmund was very hard to take. The team had potential, but lacked the right guidance with the coach in the reigns. After it was announced Louis Van Gaal would not continue as manager for the 2011/2012 season, a grin of sheer delight spread across my face. Dortmund has outclassed Bayern the whole way through what i would a shambles of a season. The fans would turn up in their thousands, home and away just to be let down by a dismal man at the side of the pitch. He had ripped the passion right out of the team. You could see that the players didn't want to be managed by Louis Van Gaal anymore. The season ended and the media starting to guess and make up stories about who would be the man to replace Van Gaal in the glamorous Allianz arena hot seat. But what the papers didn't know. Was that I, Oliver Kahn had already agreed a pre contract to become the next manager of my beloved. I had a meeting with the chairman last night. I won't be unveiled til the 21st of June, So it's a secret that will be difficult to keep ...

Discussions with the chairman entered midnight as we tried to strike the perfect deal. Sweat patches covered the new silk shirt I purchased, Just for the occasion, We had been talking for almost 4 hours now. The chairman, and club legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was still the club chairman when i was a player. So we got on really well. I demanded that I got the job, sitting amongst the fans for almost 3 years now, I knew what the supporters wanted, and needed ! I wanted the arena rocking week-in-week-out.. The atmosphere had been flat for more than half of the season. I wanted to bring a thunder, a passion back. To the most attractive stadium in the world. Also, the fans love me. I was the captain of the team for many a year. Not to sound big headed but they consider me a legend in the red part of Munich. Anyway, me and the chairman finally agreed a deal.

"Ok Oliver, 20 thousand a week, One year deal. If you win the Bundesliga you can stay on and will get a lucrative 5 year contract?"

"It's a deal, Winning the Bundesliga should be easy enough. When do i start?"

"Well Louis' contract finishes the 25th of June, So start on that day. Don't let me down Oliver, there's a lot of pressure in this job. I hope you can handle it, I have a meeting with Genoa. Their right back Rafinha is very close to signing. And you don't have a say in this transfer. I'll see you later. Oh and good luck for the season !"

The 25th of June arrived. Hosting a sports show in Germany probably wasn't the best idea, having to pretend that I knew nothing about who was to fill the vacant spot available at Bayern Munchen had to be one of the most difficult situations in my life, And I've had to put up with shots from the likes of Beckham, Rivaldo. The best of the best. I got up at 7am the morning of the big day. I made some toast, and spread delicious, fresh strawberry jam on top. With a cup of tea, it was the perfect start to the day. I had a busy day ahead, so i stuck another 4 slices in and had a shave for the first time in a while. I was starting to look like a bit of a jakey. I left the house, giving the wife a romantic kiss on the lips.

I set off in my Ferrari California. I lived an hour from the stadium and was expected to arrive at the stadium at 9:20 for another meeting with the chairman, Season expectations, Transfer targets and deadwood of the team would be the main topics of our discussion. Then after the meeting, I would be involved in my first press conference, and then the new kits would be unveiled and i would be doing a bit of modelling to advertise them. I'm excited to see them. After an hour travelling through dark depressing towns on the outskirts of the big city.

I finally arrived at the glamorous and refreshing Allianz Arena. The dark, damp buildings had depressed the life out of what I hoped to be an enjoyable journey. I stepped inside and was greeted by a beautiful young receptionist. "You're just on time, come with me. The chairman is waiting" She escorted me to the chairmans office. She knocked on the door, "Mr Kahn has arrived Mr Rummenigge" the chairman replied with "oh good, please send him in." As i waited out in the corridor, the receptionist reappeared. "The chairman will see you now." She followed me in.

"Take a seat" the chairman opened with. The receptionist interrupted... "Can i interest you in a cold beverage"

"A coke would be lovely thank you."

"Hello Oliver, Are you looking forward to the job ahead?" Just then the receptionist returned with an ice cold glass bottle of coke.

"thanks" I waited until the receptionist had left the chairmans office, I began again with "Yes sir, I can't wait to get started, I'm so excited"

"Thats great to hear. Now first of all, I'd like to inform you of what we expect from each competition we are in this season."

"ok" I answered sharply.

"To keep your job, You must win the German Bundesliga. The next objective won't ruin your chances of a new deal if you fail to achieve it, We expect that you at least get to the final of the German Cup. In the Champions League, We expect at least to secure a semi-final place. It would be a big bonus for your cause if you were to win the champions league. Do you think that these expectations are set too high?"

Before answering, I finished off what was a delicious cold coke. "No sir, these objectives are achievable. And I can assure you each of them shall be met to a high standard." I answered in a passionate and honest manner.

"Well that's a good start then, Now. We are only giving you a small budget of around 10 million euros to spend this summer."

I **** in "Ten million euros, a club like this. That's unacceptable sir."

"Don't buy anyone then !" the chairman demanded

"I won't, our team is good enough anyway"

"Good, You've just saves us a fortune" the chairman seemed to be getting angry with me.

"Are you going to sell anyone during the summer transfer window?"

"No, I'm not making any transfer deals going in or out. I want to keep the squad the way it is. It's talented enough to get through the season and still challenge for the title and reach the set objectives"

"I'm not liking your attitude here Oliver, please do calm down."

"Your first training session starts at 11. I'm sure you know all the lads since your time as goalkeeping coach. You better go and get prepared. I'm sure we'll be in touch. Why don't you go visit your new office though before you head over to the training centre. I'm sure you'll like it. You better be off, A Japanese club's official is here to organise a friendly for the lads pre-season. Good bye Oliver"

*********

I left the chairman's office, and waiting there was the soon the be annoying but beautiful receptionist now escorted me to my office on the other side of the building. She opened the door for me, and then i slammed it in her face. Some what disrespectfully i guess, but she was a pain in the ***. I looked around the room a bit, it was stunning. A huge Bayern Munich carpet, and a big club crest on the wall in front of me, I sat down on my soft leather chair and looked deep into the crest. It was an absolute honour to be back at the club i love dearly. I put my feet up and just relaxed. But before i knew it the annoying receptionist had returned, this time on the phone. "It's time for your first press conference Mr Khan, I'll be one minute to escort you to the press room" she said. Keeping her word she came to show me to the press room. As i entered, I heard the chairman's voice. "Now, I would like to welcome into the press room. The new manager of FC Bayern Munich. Ex-player and captain. Oliver Kahn. This was my time, i started to sweat a little. As i took a seat next to the chairman the eager journalists applauded me, and one or two congratulating me. He then added, "Oliver will be taking a few questions, So how about you first" The press conference had begun.

Wolfgang Schmelzer - FourFourTwo - Congratulations Oliver, How does it feel to be the new head coach of Bayern Munich?

Oliver Kahn - Thank you, It's such an honour. This has to be the best day of my life, it means so much

Peter Reus - GermanNews - What are your objectives for the season ahead ?

Oliver Kahn - That's easy, get that Bundesliga title back off Dortmund, that is the main goal for this year. The cup and continental competitions would be a bonus if we were to succeed in them. I also want to bring an atmosphere back from a few years back. The place rocking, 70,000 people singing their hearts out cheering the team on. Thats a personal goal.

Jan Koller - Sky Sports - What style of play will you be looking to bring to Die Bayern ?

Oliver Khan - A fluid, Attacking philosophy will suit the group of players. Getting the ball on the deck and playing at a high tempo is important. Pushing the defence as high up the pitch as possible. I want to entertain the fans, their the ones who matter most. I intend to put a huge smile on all of their faces.
Mario Marin - Kicker - Have you got any players in mind that you will be looking to ****** up while the transfer window is open ?

Oliver Kahn - No noone at all, Noone will be coming in and noone will be going anywhere. I'm very happy with my current squad. It doesn't need to be touched. That will be all the questions for today, i'm sure we'll have another opportunity to do this. Thanks all for coming.

I didn't ever enjoy media attention as a player, and i sure as **** didn't now as a manager. I should be out there with the players throwing my new tactics at them. And getting to work on the training pitch. Instead i was answering pointless questions for people i don't like. I left, and headed over to the training ground to meet with the players . TBC ...

When I first read the title I was like 'wtf, why would you want Bayern to die' and 'since when did Bayern have a Pakistani footballer called Khan?' but when I got round to reading it it started to make sense and I realised it's actually pretty good, lol.

I arrived at the training centre, and was greeted by an old friend of mine Gerd Muller. He told me the boys where waiting for me out in the training pitches. I got changed into appropriate gear and went out to join them, the lads had been told to keep my appointment quiet as the chairman had informed them, even before he told me i was going to be the manager !, We got into a group and i said a few words.

article-0-06CB994C000005DC-885_468x286.jpg

"Hello lads, some of you may already know me. If not I'm Oliver Kahn. I was the captain and goalkeeper here for many years. Things around here are going to change, At least I'll make it more enjoyable for you. I have one ambition at this moment in time, and that ambition is to get that title back from those Dortmund bastards. I'm going to be taking a more behind the scenes approach. The backroom staff will take training sessions but if you have any problems with the way i'm approaching things or any other situations. I'll be putting a noticeboard up concerning pre season fixtures in the next few hours. And just to let you know, If you don't try in training you don't play in games. Thats the only rule i'll be enforcing, Lets have a brilliant season lads !!"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keeping my word, the next part of my day was getting our pre-season fixtures on the noticeboard ..

Lads.

We have a few pre-season fixtures to play before the season kicks off. The whole squad will play at least one game each. The fixtures should be easy victories for us.

hahahah excellent. 'Die' in German means 'the' And the 'Khan' thing was an accident.

currently doing all pre season fixtures in one update, done 2 so far, 3 to go. Going to take ******* ages lol

Yeah, but I thought it would have been 'Der Bayern'. My first instinct was that you were managing one of Bayern's rivals-like 1860 Munich.

Pre-Season At The Helm

Before I even realised it, We were on a flight to Japan to play Satimani UTD in a friendly match. I had now been in charge for 10 days, and i was enjoying every minute of it. Gerd and my assistant coach Peter Hermann told me the lads are really getting to grips with the style of play i want to import into the team. Every player in the team has technical ability, even Manuel Neuer. The lads are enjoying their football once again and i want to transfer the enjoyment and love for the game, as well as the new style of play from the training ground and onto the pitch where it really matters. We arrived in Japan, The
devastation from the recent earthquake is still affecting every day life for these poor people, I decided our share of the gate receipts would go to a charity that was helping fix road, build new schools, hospitals. They deserved it more than our club.

It was time for my first team talk with the lads. I fielded a strong 11 for my first game. Just to see how the better players where adapting to the new system of 4-1-2-2-1. With an anchorman and two wingers. The team that started should have enough quality to put the game to bed

"Right lads, let's put a show on for these spectators today. They could be doing with some cheering up after whats happened recently. Ball on the deck, we're moving all the time. Never let the opposition mark you. Ball into feet, and for Mario put it infront of him to run on to. When there's a chance to counter, do it. But make it quick, be ruthless today boys. Good Luck"

The match kicked off, Saitama having the better of the possession in the first 5 minutes, they created a few clear cut chances before the Japanese side took a shock lead through Shinsuke Kagawa on the 8th minute. A poor start to my managerial career. FC Bayern upped the tempo straight from kick off and knocked the ball around fluently and attempted to wear Saitama's players down. Franck Ribery then missed a clear cut chance 17 minutes into the match after some exchange play with Thomas Muller before putting the ball past the post from close range. It was only a matter of time before Bayern scored but every opportunity of the first half went astray and Saitama left the pitch for half time in huge applause, and deservedly so. HT Saitama 1 - 0 FC Bayern

I then made 7 substitutions at half time as I wasn't expecting to score. The youngsters of Bayern were determined to prove their worth to myself and the backroom staff. The football we played started to get more attractive as time went on, But still we failed in the field of converting chances. Saitama then were given a golden chance to run away with the lead when Emre Can brought down Shinji Kurawsaka inside the box, and was shown a straight red card for his last man challenge. The man who opened the lead Shinsuke Kagawa then stepped up to double the scoreline, but instead hit the post, and Manuel Neuer saved the rebound, My side were given a lifeline. We pushed and pushed and our efforts finally paid off after 87 minutes when Toni Kroos scored a magnificent goal from 30 yards to put us back on level terms. Then in a dramatic finale, We were awarded a corner that seemed to have hit off Christian Derflinger, Who then swung it in beautifully and then captain Philip Lahm climbed highest to head home the winner for Bayern. I was delighted with the comeback, But the manner in which we lost the goal was unacceptable. Back to the training ground. FT Saitama 1 - 2 FC Bayern

Right after the match, We had to catch a flight back to Munich in preparation for our match against Sporting Lisbon at the Allianz. I couldn't wait to be in the dugout of one of the best stadiums on earth. On the plane, I had a word with the lads. I stood up front, of business class. And gave them a good telling off. I told them that they'd have to buck up their ideas if we were to put a serious title challenge in. They knew they'd let me down, but i was impressed with the team spirit they showed. It was immense.
We now had a fixture against a very good technical side in Sporting Lisbon. It was going to be a stern test, but we had the ability to see the match through. I was expecting a massive performance after the disappointment of 2 days ago.

Before the match Gerd came running into my office in the stadium declaring Mario Gomez had broken his wrist while doing a passing exercise, he just fell and landed awkwardly on it. And i had just announced the team which was very disappointing. Youngster Marius Dunhke would be his replacement, the only weakness in what otherwise would be a full strength team. I went down to the dressing rooms for the team talk ...

"It's going to be a good test out there tonight lads, their a good team. Beware of their movement, they have a few little guys who if you give an inch of space will make you pay for it. Stay tight, and don't let them get by you, if they do. Go right through them, just accept the booking and get on with the game. Get the ball on the deck and play. Don't give away stupid goals !!!"

The match started and Bayern were on the attack straight away, Mario Gomez's replacement Dunhke striking the post in the opening 45 seconds of what turned out to be a classic. Both teams were trying to get the first goal and entertained fans were pleasantly loud for the first time in ages. Bayern then had a golden opportunity when Franck Ribery dribbled past 4 players before sliding it unselfishly to Thomas Muller who hit the ball over the bar, Ribery then getting into an argument with the German after all his hard work was ruined by a lack of composure. Sporting Lisbon sat back and let Bayern pass the ball about but anytime we got near the 18 yard box play was broken up and the ball would end up at the feet of Ricky Van Woolfswinkel, The Dutchman scored 3 minutes from half time to stun Die Bayern and put them in an undeserved lead. HT FC Bayern 0 - 1 Sporting Lisbon

We came out and gave Sporting a good battle, 3 of our players were booked for being a bit over passionate when going in for 50/50 tackles but that's the kind of commitment i was looking for. Half time substitute Emre Can then hit the woodwork from a Franck Ribery Corner, the ball then went out of ball. From the resulting goal kick. Rui Patricio punted the ball right up the pitch and over the heads of the Bayern defence. Ricky Van Woolfswinkel latched onto the ball and passed the ball through the legs of Manuel Neuer to extend the lead. I demanded that striker Nils Petersen was to get stripped and replace the young kid who looked out of place. The substitute made an instant impact scoring a glancing header from a Franck Ribery cross. We started to get into the groove and moved the ball around nicely. Franck Ribery at the heart of everything good so far. He then assisted another goal for Petersen this time playing a one two with last seasons 2.Bundesliga top goalscorer too equalise for the Germans. After the equalising goal it was attack after attack from Bayern. Nils Petersen was then denied a hat-trick after some world class goalkeeping from Rui Patricio, The striker struck a 25 yard long ranger which was destined for the top corner before the keeper got a right hand to it. My lads' efforts paid off 7 minutes into injury time and this time Petersen did get his hat trick from a Toni Kroos free kick a few yards from the corner flag. Another superb fighting comeback from the boys, but it can't continue like this giving away cheap cheap goals.FT Bayern
3 - 2 Sporting Lisbon

***********************************************

2 wins from 2 games in pre season. Both times leaving it late to score the decider. The lads have played some very decent football but losing cheap goals has to stop. We'll be working on defensive position intensely until the next match. We flew to Holland expecting to win heavily, and i hope we get the result we are looking for. I was more calm in my next pre match team talk with the players ..

"Go out there and just play good football, don't worry about the result. Just keep possession and tire them out, full backs push up the pitch and support Franck and Thomas. Let's get plenty of shots on goal today, test out their goalkeeper. Ivica i'm expecting a massive performance from you today son. Let's prove to me why each and everyone of you should be in my starting 11 for the first game of the season at Stuttgart. Good luck out there boys."

seconds into the match, We took the lead through a wonderful Franck Ribery solo effort. He took the ball from the MVV right midfielder and beat every player in his way before rounding it off with a chip over the goalkeeper. Best start we've had in pre-season so far. We then settled into a nice passing rhythm, one two's, small triangles, switching the play. It was a delight to watch. But once against some shoddy defending seen MVV equalise to the surprise of a full capacity crowd. It all came from a corner which was successfully cleared. Then the rest is a blank, thank god. Boy Duel played a huge part in the match, and regained the lead for Bayern after Thomas Muller switched the play to Ribery who squared it to Duel who powered it home from just outside the area. The rest of the first half was rather poor. HT MVV 1 - 2 FC BAYERN

We came back out the second half raring to go, Franck Ribery and Thomas Muller were fired up, and had been playing with confidence although a few of the youngsters seemed to have a nervy first 45 minutes. All nerves were settled though after 6 minutes of the second half gone. Boy Duel linking up with Bastian Schweinsteiger who slotted the ball home from just inside the box. Some poor refereeing saw 2 MVV players sent off in quick succession for absolutely nothing, but they did pull a goal back from their summer signing Vincent Wereim of Comoros. FT MVV 2 - 3 Bayern

We flew straight from Eindhoven to Newcastle Airport. We had a game in England against Premier League opposition, i planned to play a weakened side against Sunderland, I hadn't been to England in years, Maybe i'll manage there one day ??? It was time to face Sunderland, a glorious day at the stadium of light.

'There is no pressure on you to get a victory, just play your natural game and i'll be happy. If we go down a goal don't lose focus, we keep going. Attack attack attack !!. If you get a good win here today you could be booking your starting place in the German Cup. Good luck kids."

The whistle blue and Bayern's young talent were already attacking an experienced Sunderland side under the legendary Martin O'Neill. We passed, and passed, and passed. The ball was being moved around almost poeticly around a crisp green field of play. There was only maybe 2 thousand Bayern supporters attending the match but they were in good voice, their non stop chanting inspired the lads onto an early lead. Boy Duel with the opener passing the ball past Belgian Simon Mingolet. We started going for the 2nd goal and for the first time. Our defence didn't look like it was about to crumble in front of my eyes. But i was wrong, we failed to clear a Stephane Sessegnon corner and Matthew Kilgallon blasted the ball up into the roof of the net to equalise. It was soon 2-1 to the hosts Sessegnon assisting Craig Gardner who curled the ball into the right hand corner. A stunning effort from the Englishman. We got back to playing a nice crisp passing game, Boy Duel hitting the bar from a free kick 30 yards from goal was the only sign of my youngsters getting back into the game. HT Sunderland 2 - 1 FC Bayern

David Alaba was only fit enough for 45 minutes but the Austrian made an incredible impact on the game, he put his foot on the pedal and dictated the game at his own pace, sensational for an 18 year old. His recurring groin strain dampened his performance but stayed on to equalise from a long range effort. The ball fell to him after Wellbeck failed to control a Mignolet goal kick, he turned and in the same movement struck the ball with some venom to put the score back on level terms. David Vaughan however had a moment of pure inspiration of his own to seal the victory for Sunderland with 7 minutes remaining. I was very proud of the youngsters performances. The First Competitive Match.

Pre season had flown in, I had been charge a month and it was now time for my first competitive match as the manager of Bayern Munich. A German Cup match against Third Division Kiel wouldn't be the sternest of tests but it gets the lads prepared for the season ahead. In my opinion the bigger teams should enter the competition in the third round as it gives teams in more difficult financial situations to get a good cup run going and help them out balancing the books, Maybe need to get in front of a panel and put forward the idea one day. The defence have been worked tirelessly in an attempt to fix the problems we had during the friendlies. We made the 8 hour trip to Kiel by bus, a long, long trip it was.

"Lads our opponents aren't the strongest side we'll play this season. So lets go out and give them a good doing over. Pass them off the park. Tire them out, Fight for this badge, Fight for the fans. We go to battle everytime we step onto that pitch. Come on lads !!"

The match kicked off and the Kiel Ultras got the stadium rocking. It was a glorious summers day, perfect for football. A poor, muddy, cut up pitch which I believe was intentionally made to ensure we couldn't play our typical passing game. My lads struggled with the difficult conditions for 15 minutes but finally got to grips with the holes and bumps placed all over the park. We got into a nice passing rhythm and made the opposition work hard to get back on the ball. With only Nils Petersen available for selection up front. We lacked a certain cutting edge in the attacking third, With Arjen Robben injured til February and Franck Ribery playing with a swollen ankle we weren't creating chances like we should. It took an Anduele Pryor corner to take an undeserved lead over the minnows, Emre Can getting on the end of it. A fresh Thomas Muller replaced Franck Ribery who was sent down the tunnel to extend the treatment he had on his ankle from the side of the pitch earlier in the match. Muller brought the game to life with some lovely touches and sent Boy Duel on his way with a through ball but Duel smashed the bar from 20 yards. The whistle blew shortly after that opportunity for half time.
HT Kiel 0 -1 FC Bayern

The players Where told to buck up their ideas at half time and I made another change, Youngster Kevin Friesenbichler replaced Nils Petersen up front to freshen things up. Kiel attacked straight from their kick off and started to play some nice football albeit at a ridiculously slow tempo. A few lads got frustrated and started to play football the Bayern way, on the deck at a high tempo. We switched to a 2-3-2-2-1 and we started to outnumber them in the middle of the park. Toni Kroos was then booked for absolutely nothing and I went ballistic at the referee who then sent me to the stands after putting up with 17 seconds of complete dogs abuse from me. I was placed infront of the Kiel board of directors. One of whom couldn't see the rest of the match as an animated Oliver Kahn was waving to the assistant manager instructions to give to the players on the field. We doubled the lead on 77 minutes through young half time substitute Kevin Friesenbichler. A lovely solo effort from 25 yards saw it curve round the defender and into the bottom corner of the net. Kiel then started to get back into the match and 2 minutes after we scored our second. They hit the bar from a curling free kick which was unlucky not to hit the back of the net. After relentless attacking play for the last 8 or 9 minutes of the match. Kiel snatched a consolation goal, a strike partnership playing a nice one-two before passing the ball by ****.
FT Kiel 1 - 2 FC Bayern

***************************************

I wasn't playing a strong team but i thought that we played well. Some nice attacking football and we kept a good tempo for the best part of the game. The defence has really toughened up and united recently which is great to see. The hard work on the training ground has finally paid off. It looks like Franck won't take any part in the first 3 games of the season. He's done some minor ligament damage to his right ankle, He'll be a huge miss.

August Report

A few days after the cup match, It was time for to kick off what should and hopefully would be an exciting Bundesliga, Our first game was a very difficult trip to Stuttgart for my Bayern team. The main focus in training over the last few days was possession, and passing the ball into feet. If we were to break down a solid and well disciplined Stuttgart defence then we would need to pass, pass and pass until we tired them out. We set off 4 hours before the match on the coach to the arena.

"Guys we're up against a decent side today. I must warn you the fans will make it difficult to play out there, They'll be on yours and the referees back the whole 90 minutes. If you do what we practiced on the training ground, pass pass pass. Then we'll get a decent result. Don't let the atmosphere beat you tonight. We beat the atmosphere and we beat the opposition. Mario, I know your lacking match sharpness but let's prove to everyone why you're the best striker in Germany. Jerome, Stay tight to Cacau. He'll hurt us if you give him an inch, so don't let that happen. Let's make this one about the fans. They deserve it, Good luck guys. COME ON !!!"

Stuttgart started the game like they had something to prove, they underachieved last year but they were determined to get this campaign of to a flyer. They almost did 7 minutes in when Cacau's header just went over the bar after some good link-up play down the left hand side. Rafinha was in for a hard night. Stuttgart had 91% possession in the first 15 minutes. And the ref helped there cause by showing 4 of my players yellow cards in that time, all for nothing, i just managed to keep my cool. The hostile atmosphere in the Mercedes-Benz-Arena made things even more difficult to play in for the lads. Stuttgart, Well Cacau missed 3 more golden opportunities all coming from the left hand side, But some encouragement from myself and my assistant fired him up and the opportunities stopped coming for Stuttgart. But they managed to take a surprise lead through Cacau, Referee being a helping hand awarding a free kick 25 yards out for absolutely nothing. But credit to Cacau for the strike. Manuel Neuer had no chance, the ball rifled into the top right hand corner to make it 1-0. The rest of the first half consisted of Stuttgart being on the front foot pinning back a nervous Bayern Munich. But i was still confident we could get at least a point from the game. We never got a shot on goal the whole first half.

After some aggressive words in the changing room, The lads seemed convinced they could salvage something from the match. A half injured Franck Ribery was brought on to replace Thomas Muller who had been absolutely shocking the first 45. As a matter of fact any of the team could have been replaced at half time we where that bad. The second half began and the team talk seemed to make the world of difference as Mario Gomez equalised for Die Bayern, He linked up with Toni Kroos and it looked like the 3 points was in touching distance. We settled down and absolutely hammered Stuttgart, we were angry after the first half performance and wanted to repay the fans with something special. But the referee cancelled out 3 goals all from Mario Gomez claiming a foul, and 2 offside's despite being in his own half when the ball was played, then clearly was 3 yards behind Tasci. I was fuming with the referee, but i couldn't afford to get sent to the stands. Stuttgart defended well, and on the counter attack they looked dangerous. Their disciplined set up was good to watch but stopped us from ever getting close to the goal. On the 89th minute, Serdar Tasci was shown a red card after a shocking high challenge on Bastian. He had to come off injured and looks set to be out for a while. The whistle blew and I shook the hand of the manager and ignored the referee's offer. ******!

Absolutely raging at the standard of refereeing in the match. At least one of the goals should have counted and we would be 3 points better off. Still a long long season ahead. After the match, I flew to Switzerland to watch the draw for the Champions League Qualifiers ...

I was happy with the draw. It would be difficult in Italy but i felt we would give them a hammering in Germany. They only really have Di Natale as a goal scoring threat but their a team who possesses ridiculous pace. I was looking forward to playing them, a decent test for the boys.

I returned from Switzerland a happy man. Now we had to turn our attention to the game against Hannover at the weekend. They hammered Hoffenheim 3-1 in their opening match. This game would be special, my first league match at the Allianz arena was bound to be special. I couldn't wait just to hear the atmosphere. I was already getting stick in the press. 'I was to weak minded for the job' or The players hate Kahn. They won't perform for him' these headlines made me determined to prove them wrong. In the dressing room, there was a buzzing atmosphere as we listened to the crowd cheering even before kick off.

"
Listen to that out there, these fans deserve to be entertained. So go out there, and do it for them. Let's get a win under our belts today and give them something to be even louder about. Score a few goals and enjoy it today. Just relax and you'll do well. I want to see us in possession all the time, don't give them a minutes peace. If we lose the ball, we hunt in packs. Go and chase after it and regain possession. Come on guys. Let's do this !"

The game kicked off, and with the place rocking. Confidence oozed out of each Bayern player. We attacked from the whistle and 2 minutes in Mario Gomez struck the post from just inside the Hannover box but failed to follow the shot in. With almost 70,000 fans singing in full voice, a tear streamed down my cheek. It was an emotional moment. But i was brought back down to earth when Ya Konan went down cheaply and won his side a penalty. More poor refereeing made my face turn bright red in complete anger. The diving ******* got up quick enough to take it, but justice was served when Neuer springed to the left and caught it in the same movement. A fine stop. This only made the team angrier and we played some fantastic football, but also started to stick the boot in unnecessarily. Our efforts almost paid off but a great save from the opposition stopper meant Mario Gomez didn't double his tally for the season. No more chances were created in the first half and it ended a stalemate.
HT FC Bayern 0 - 0 Hannover

Ivica Olic replaced Mario Gomez who picked up a slight knock after a collision with a Hannover defender and was unable to continue. The Croatian made his presence felt 2 minutes after replacing the German giant Gomez with a real pocher's effort to open the scoring. The build up to the goal was magnificent, 12 or 13 passes were played before it fell to Olic who just passed it into the net to open his account for the season. We hunted for a second and hit the bar twice, first from Jerome Boateng and then from Schweinsteiger, both unlucky not to go in. Little diving ******* Didier Ya Konan equalised for Hannover undeservedly with a strike from what looked like was in his own half. Neuer was caught day dreaming on the edge of his area after a corner for us was cleared and Konan drew the teams level with a stroke of genius. Time was running out for Bayern and we swapped the formation to a 2-3-2-3 bring Nils Petersen on for Rafinha on 80 minutes. With his first touch of the ball the German headered it home to equalise after a beautiful cross from fellow countryman Schweinsteiger to seal my first league victory.
FT - FC Bayern 2 - 1 Hannover

I was delighted with the victory, but once again the referees seemed to be against us. My man of the match would be Bastian, He was quality all game, and set up the winner for Nils. It looks like Franck and Mario will be ok for the Udinese game on Wednesday which should give the team a huge boost.

(must go, rest of august report after or tomorrow!)

very detailed...but it's the first story that i've read on this site, so maybe i'm not the best judge on this... D: i like your way of writing and i love bayern :D and i also appreciate that you didn't buy or sell any players but were determined to win with the current bayern squad. but i think you can indeed buy some good players for 10M, especially as backup for your easily injured robbery duo, since robben's injured most of the time...

anyway i like your inclusion of maps and reader-friendly format/font, as well as your use of pictures :D keeps it quite real. do keep writing!
