Van Gaal Going?

News is coming from the Allianz Arena that Louis Van Gaal is set to leave his position as Bayern Manager. This has come as a shock to many who praised Van Gaal for turning the club around after a dissappointing spell under former Tottenham man Jurgen Klinsmann. No official statement has been made yet from either Van Gaal or Bayern but with rumours like this coming so unexpectadly, surely there must be some truth in it.....

Bayern's Official statement

View attachment 71287

3 days after serculating rumours emerged that Bayern manager Louis Van Gaal was leaving Bayern have finally release an official comment, which explains Van Gaal's departure;

'Due to the reports surrounding Louis we felt that it was only fair on the club and Louis reputation that we produce this statement. The reports are infact true. Louis has decided to part with the club on 'Mutual consent'. Sadly, he (Van Gaal) felt that after stabalising the side after Jurgen that he wanted to pursue another challenge. We wish Louis all the best in the future and hope to draw up a list of possible replacements by the end of the day.'

So after the rumours are confirmed bookies weren't slow on giving odds on the next manager. A surprise inclusion though was rookie manager Craig Todd. Todd, 30, has been managing Bayern II for the previous 2 years and was seen in Van Gaal's eyes as 'The perfect experiment.' From Scotland, he is the only non-high profile name given by the bookies.

The new man in charge
The shock inclusion of Craig Todd at 150/1 to take over as Bayern manager have turned out to be a very excellant bet for anybody that took it. Bayern announced today that Todd would be Van Gaal successor. It is reported that Todd has a budjet of £6million.

Quick to bring change...
New boss Todd has taken no prisoners when it comes to clearing out the players that he no longer wants. Van Bommel, Klose and Van Buyton have all been sold by him. Some Bayern fans were in a sense of disbelief at the sale of these players but when questioned Todd simply said;

'None of these players would be in my plans. I have a transfer target in mind who will be an excellant addition to our squad should we sign him up.'

With such a simple statement, many are not sure whether or not to believe in Todd. Already the sale of these 3 players have created a stir within the Allianz.

Todd goes all out on Dzeko
After the sale of 3 key players Bayern fans were left wondering how Craig Todd could do this and what his motives were. Well, the supporters of Bayern were left in a state of shock and happiness when a statement from Bayern's official website was released today;

' We are very pleased to today announce the arrival of Edin Dzeko from Wolfsburg. Mr.Todd believes that Edin is the calibare of player who will help drive this club to continued glory. After seeing Edin's performance in last year's Bundesliga we agreed on this and came to an agreement with Wolfsburg.'

The deal for Dzeko is said to be in the region of £35million. This is said to be agreed by a clause in Dzeko contract in which he had a minimum release fee. He signs a 4-year deal with Bayern, earning £75,000 a week. The money is to be paid over 48 months and none was paid up-front.

Good start But why did you sell Van Buyten for 2.1mil?

A good Pre-Season for Bayern
After finishing his transfers relatively early on in the season Todd got his team set out on having a good pre-season. With a total of 7 games he was looking for all players involved to show to him what they were capable off.
Looking at the results there was some good and bad performances. The humilating 4-2 defeat was a sore one to take for Todd's ambitious side as this team were not considered as a threat.

The Season Begins
' I hope i'm not putting to much pressure on the lads, but i am expecting a lot this year from the 2 wingers, Franck(Ribery) and Arjen(Robben). I've created my 4-5-1 tactic which is based around these 2 cutting inside and hitting shots. The tip of the triangle, Edin(Dzeko), is the other main part and im hoping the combination of these 3 players will produce goals for the team this year. I just hope that i can create another successful Bayern team.' Craig Todd.

After this comment before the German cup game for Bayern Todd clearly stated what he was expecting. Maybe turning up the heat on Ribery, Robben and Dzeko but the class of these players he was hoping would shine through.

An equal game in which the points were split. Bayern's Franck Ribery scores the only goal for his side as they draw the game 1-1.

Bayern abit shakey
It was now the 4th of August and Rookie gaffer Todd hasn't provided the start or performances that the expantant Bayern fans wanted.
Pressure was growing on Todd. His main man Franck Ribery was at the moment keeping Todd going and in a job.

My updates will now be monthly as i've kindy been getting carried away with playing. Sorry!

Monthly update to come soon!

Todd picks up some vital points in title race.

With heavy pressure now on Bayern manager Craig Todd a good November was in order to get him back into the title challenge and earn him some breathing space. He called on the class and experiance of his players to shine through and help him in a bid to do so.

' I understood the pressure of the job when i came. I knew that the Bayern fans would be heavily expectant that there side win trophies this season but I still fully believe in my managerial abilities to turn things around. What you have to bare in mind is that we only have to league defeats so far, so we still have more than enough time to turn this around.' Craig Todd.

Bayer Leverkusen vs. Bayern Munich

With more pressure growing on Todd reports that this could be his last game if he didnt produce a result emerges. Todd though dissmisses this and tries to prepare his side for a tough away game. With players like Rofles, Bayern loanee Kroos and Patrick Helmes Leverkusen provided a tough challenge.

Todd picks up a vital away point. The fans are pleased with the teams performance as was Todd. Can they improve on this away to Schalke?

Schalke vs Bayern Munich

More reports that Todd is going to get the sack if a result is not earned in this game. But Todd chose to ignore these again and looked to focus on the game. An on form Jefferson Farfan was fit and looking to cause Bayern some trouble. Todd though had his on players on Form in Dzeko and Ribery.

Edin Dzeko (2), Demichelis

What a performance from Todd's side! With the pressure on a Bayern side procude a very efficent performance to dispatch Schalke. This moves Todd's side further up the league table into 3rd and confidence was finally building.

Austrian Kid produces the goods!

On the back of a great performance against Schalke Todd welcomed 2nd place Wolfsburg to the Allianz arena. No rumours this week as the Bayern team under Scottish influence were starting to play quite well in comparison to earlier in the season.

Dzeko, Schweinstiger, Alaba

With Todd switching his previous 4-5-1 to a 4-2-3-1 in this game he was hoping the outcome would be positive, it was! With time running out Todd take off young Spanish midfielder Mario who was on a booking on the 86th minute. Looking now to earn a draw after believeing that his side wouldnt earn anything more. Step up David Alaba. The 18 year-old Austrian who had recently signed his first professional deal. 90 + 4 minutes of added time was when the scene was set for 'The Kid' as his Bayern teammates named him. 25 yards out, he picks up via a throw in from Pranjic, takes one touch to move it out his feet and strikes it right into the top right hand bag! The Allianz eruptes and the stewards struggle to hold him back! Magic Stuff!
