Anyone here know of any GOOD, HEALTHY, FAST ACTING diets on the market today? I've been looking at suppliments like Acai Berries and such but can't see how they would work. Any input is appreciated.

Eat healthy, exercise and keep any less healthy options minimal (do allow yourself them, just not in excess). Diets are usually fads and money making spin.

My mate lost 6 stone in two months by only eating brann flakes and drinking orange juice. (:

But if you just ate healthier and exercised you would notice a huge difference. People who need diets are just weak and need something to blame when they eventually put the weight back on. Man up.

I agree with Cal. It's all a big lie. The only way to be healthy is to eat less and eat more healthy and move your lazy *** from the chair and run a couple of kilometers/miles. In the end, you will start saying to yourself "I'm sexy and I know it"

I've always found the idea of dieting a bit bland an boring, exercise is the best way to lose weight and yeah you may have to change your diet a little bit but if you exercise regularly, you can get away with eating what you want.

But I don't eat **** or snack at all, I have a minimal appetite, my only obvious flaw is alcohol, I can go all week without a drop touching my lips but then when the weekend lands, it's all ****. Another flaw could be that I don't eat breakfast.. Is a breakfast a must if I'm going to lose weight?

Breakfast is only a must if u eat a larger breakfast than lunch and tea. If u eat a decent sized breakfast, i find u don't really need one of the others, which usually means any caloric value you have consumed early in the day should have been used by late in the day. There have been times that i have had things like bacon sandwiches etc then ate little at night and lead a reasonably active lifestyle and still lost weight.

Its a known fact that if you don't eat past 8 o'clock as your body doesn't have much chance to burn the calories, and on average due to after 8 is most peoples leisure time your metabolism is lower.

But as all the fellers said above, exercise is the key, and if u train hard, replenish your energy stores with pure protein, although some say carbs as your metabolism from the workout will remain high for hours afterwards, you will eat enough carbs in a general diet, drink a protein shake or eat a meaty salad. will fill u up and do your muscles and your weight loss a lot of good.

Im not just chatting all this from being a recently graduated sports student either, that is just what works for me, the problems with dieting, weight loss and getting fit is every individual is as it is termed an "individual" you will differ from every other person in what works for you. What you find comfortable doing, what you can cope with and what your body responds to.

As a general rule: eat less, eat healthier and do exercise.

Then you have to find what works better for you and your body in terms of types of food and specific exercise.

You could run 20-30 minutes and do rope-jumping on alternate days for starting. And stop drinking colas or soft drinks if you do. You should also limit alcohol to the minimum especially at the start of this "diet". Which again is just a word.

I do 30 minutes of cardio a day, plus my moderately active job, I don't drink soft drinks at all, only water and the odd cup of tea. I have lunch and tea, moderate plate sizes and a couple of wholemeal barms with turkey on, no butter.. But I put weight on, it's the most annoying thing ever! I probably lose more weight over the weekend through drinking and not eating, at all sometimes. Have doen this for the last 2 months at least and I've lost a lb, it's stupid.

Alochol is the devil if you want to lose weight - should be the first thing you cut if you're serious about losing weight.

Life is short and don't bother imo, but if I was going to diet I'd continue to eat what I wanted (see point A) and just excercise it off - find something fun, for example I could play tennis far longer than I could jog, or football far longer than on a treadmill.

Healthy and fast acting is a bit of a contradiction too.

Atkins diet, Dukan diet, South Beach diet etc will all help you lose weight quickly, but they aren't good for you in the long run.

Acai berries are a marketing gimmick. Yes they are healthy, and full of antioxidants and vitamins, but so are most fruits. There is no mystical part of an acai berry that burns fat.

As Dr Rudi says, eat less, thats a good start ;)

Seriously though. Pick complex carbohydrates; rice, potato, wholemeal pastas and breads, over white flour carbs like white bread and white pasta, and avoid simple sugars and processed sugars.

Pick 'good' fat over 'bad' fat, so try to have more unsturated fat than saturated.

High quality protein like fish, good quality unprocessed meats, even nuts (not KP dry roasted) try pistachios, walnuts, whatever you like really, just not fried/roasted and covered in flavouring, baked beans, eggs, and wholemeal food will help.

If you cook alot for yourself then try altering your cooking methods. Baking, grilling and boiling are better than frying. If you like an english breakfast, do all of it on the grill and swap the fried egg for scrambled or poached, will be much healthier.

Ready meals, pre prepared pizza etc are the devil. They contain simple sugars, saturated fat, processed meat, plenty of white flour carbs and a shedload of salt too. Basically everything you dont want.

Obviously eating as much fresh fruit and veg as possible won't do you any harm either. They will also help you to feel full but dont come with the overload of calories that other filling foods do.

Since you don't eat much- Booze is probably the thing keeping the weight on. Beer and Cider put on weight a lot. If you gave up drinking for a bit you might lose weight.

Easier said than done though XD.

Well if you're serious about losing weight, then you have to make changes to your current lifestyle. Not to be rude, but what do you weigh at the moment? Do you even need to lose weight?

Give that a bash ;)

What Jake said.

Also try to variate your exercise - both type and workload - and see how your body responds, you have to find what works better for you.

If I had to suggest you one thing I'd say boxing training, maybe give it a try!

Easy: kcals in < kcals out.
You could do this either by eating less or by excersizing more, but doing both is the fastest. Also, the more muscle you have, the more kcals you need on a day to maintain that muscle and therefore the easier it is to lose fat.
