Hello. I'm in the first season as Newcastle and doing pretty well (4th in January). I have a talented 17 year old regen in my squad who I introduced into the first team 3 games ago. He has done very well and in those three games has had ratings of 8.8, 8.9 and 8.0, along with 3 goals and 2 assists (He's an AMC with great tech stats but poor physical and average mental stats - which is to be expected.) Anyway, my dilemma is that my next three games are Arsenal (Home), Chelsea (Home) and Man Utd (Away). Should I keep him in the starting lineup for these games, or at least the Arsenal game? It seems harsh to drop him, however I don't know how he'll respond to playing against top class opposition, what do you guys think?

PS my coach rates him as 2 star CA.

Thanks!

I wouldn't risk him personally, keep his rating high to aid development so a bad performance against any of those teams could cause his moral to plummet!

Though ask yourself "Has this kid shown me any reason to think he may be more of a threat than my first team player?"
If the answer is yes, play him and be prepared to take him off
If the answer is no: Go with your tried and tested but give him a spot on the bench in cases you can safely bring him on.

I ignore the CA/PA personally.
I've seen it fluctuate (without changing my squads or coaches) so much that i take it only as a rough guideline and use my own intuition to tell if a player has a future or not.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up bringing him off the bench against Arsenal, which ended up 0-0. I started him against Chelsea and he did pretty good in a game that we won 4-2. Didn't play him Away at United. :)
