Director of Football Challenge

I am looking at starting a new save and making a story of it if anyone is interested in voting on it here is the link.

One of the challenges is a director of football challenge which for those who havent heard of the challenge is when you leave most of the running of the club to the DoF so they hire/fire all staff and they sell/sign all players as well. I was wondering whether anyone had attempted this challenge before and if they had any advice on how to tackle it.

I have become used to allowing the DoF to hire & fire my staff as its easier when I can't be bothered with that aspect of the game (on my lazier plug-and-play games), but I have never allowed him to buy and sell who he likes - only players I put on my transfer targets page!

I feel allowing them to make all the choices provides a different challenge as you cant just go out and buy all the top youngsters and regens. You have to work with what he gives you and hope they have the ability to find good players in the positions you need and also bring in some good youngsters as well.

Does the DoF actually fire staff? Whenever it comes to renewing contracts of my staff at the start of the season, I'm not sure whether my DoF intends for their contracts to run out; or whether he just doesn't do anything?

They usually leave it to the last week or so before offering the staff a new deal on my save

I have yet to start this challenge but I am hoping that they do operate as closely to how they operate in real life. I would like them to buy and sell players at their own free will and force the manager to have to cope with the changes without a vote on what could happen.

How do I set my DoF to deal with all offers? Right now he deals with the offers for transfer listed players, but I want him to deal with other offers as well. I just wanna deal with training, tactics amd strategies, like most managers do in real life.
