EURO CUP GROUP F
GENOA Vs. MOTHERWELL

Italian Serie A outfit Genoa are clear favourites tonight as they take on SPL side Motherwell in this opening Group F fixture. Genoa are fresh off a win against Florentina at the weekend but star right back Anthony Vanden Borre is a doubt for tonight's clash. Motherwell have no injury's currently and will be looking to pick themselves up after a 3-2 defeat at fir park last week against raining champions Rangers.

Suspected Motherwell line up:

Smith

Grey Saunders Reynolds Hammell

Hately Jennings

Forbes Fitzpatrick

Pearson

Sutton

Genoa coach Gasperini dismisses Motherwell threat! Gaspernini launched an attack on the motherwell side his team faces in tomorrows Europa clash saying "Motherwell are nobodies, we do not see them as a threat. Their manager is inexperienced and they are just here to make up the numbers. We will be looking to take all three points and our goal is to progress from the group stages and have a good run in the tournament."

Motherwell manager Michael Stewart has yet to resale a statement but assistant Archie Knox declared Motherwell are going into the game with their heads held high and will look to play attractive attacking football, so expect goals!

FANTASTIC MOTHERWELL HOLD GENOA IN GENOVA!

GENOA 1 - 1 MOTHERWELL

Motherwell have made a few people stand up and take notice after a brave performance seen them hold on for a point against Italian side Genoa. Motherwell got of to the best of starts when young Scotland starlet Ross Forbes struck an amazing free kick from 25 yards into the top corner of Marco Amelia's net just 4 minutes into the match. The 3000 Motherwell fans who had travelled for the match then witnessed 90 minutes of onslaught from Genoa and it took until the 68th minute for them to draw level after another amazing free kick, this time from Genoa's Robert Acquafresca. Motherwell then hanged on for the last 20 minute with Graeme smith in fantastic form saving Motherwell on many occasions. The only negative from tonight's game is that Scotland Under 21's defender Steven Saunders was carried off with a pulled hamstring and could face up to 4 week on the sidelines.

The players congratulate Ross Forbes after amazing strike.
