Quick question regarding player knowledge/scouting in LLM.
In November 2011, I started a career with my local team Ballyclare Comrades in the Northern Irish third tier. After my first season, I was able to sign a lot of players from abroad just using the player-search function with the only condition of Expired contract status ticked (i.e. no search by name, no buying Reunion players etc - they just appeared in the player search).
I won the clean sweep (including IFA and League Cups) in my second season and as a result qualified for the Europa League in my third season (and first in the Irish Premiership). Again, I was able to sign top quality players on amateur/part-time contracts, including a lot of North African regens.
I got Comrades through the qualifiers, through the group stage of the EL and into the knockout rounds before being beaten by Leverkusen.
My laptop packed it in so I started a new career on a new computer with Ballymoney United in the same division as the Comrades last month. However, at the end of my first season (a more successful one than my first with the Comrades) I'm not able to sign any foreign players - they just don't appear on the player search. I signed Patrick Vaz to try and increase my knowledge but he's yet to retire so I can't tap into that yet.
Does anyone know the reason as to why the scouting is so different between the two teams? Is it a result of a change in game updates? (I'm now using one of LFC Marshall's updates if that makes a difference). I didn't sign any foreign coaches/scouts for Comrades so it can't be that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
