Do you change your preferred formations every season?

Is there any benefit to altering the formations you use, so the opposition teams are not as adept at facing the one you use? Or will it do nothing except cause minor probs because of my own players' unfamiliarity?

I think the computer will just sit deeper/ or become more defensive if your team have better reputation..IDK, but i think i read that a hyear ago.

And i do change my tactics, even I dominate team, because using the same formation will be boring.

I was just wondering about the same thing. In my first United save I won the prem, league cup and champion's league in the first season. In the the second season my tactic seemingly just stopped working and I ended up rage quitting and abandoning the save after a winless run of 5 or so games from the start of the season.

Now I'm nearing my third season in a new United save. After the first season I did change my tactics, because I wasn't scoring enough despite winning the prem (just about) and the league cup. Second season I won absolutely everything and at one point had a run of 22 straight wins including 3-0 home and away against Barca, so I decided to keep the same tactics. Now I've had an alarming set of pre-season results, barely winning and drawing against 3rd tier French teams and whatnot. So I'm left wondering whether this "tactics stop working after using them for one season" is something that happens regularly? To be fair I have had to use a couple of weak youth players in these games because of injuries and international duty but still, should be doing better.

Yep, I am 7-8 games into my second season. After finishing 8th last season, I am winless, and have 2 draws. Conceeding all over the place (and the hitting the post seems to have gone into overdrive). Right now, I feel like taking a lump hammer to this computer!

Come on, there's people out there with experience in this game, it won't hurt for you to give a sentence or two.

With my AJax save I'm forced to change each and every year, I win the league, carry the same tactic over to the next season and find myself fighting for mid table till I try another tactic or formation.
