Dominating Matches

Hello people, im new to the site. I've been playin football manager since 2005. However, on fm 2011, i've found it difficult to keep a high possession percentage and win my matches convincingly. Its either one or the other. I am currently managing arsenal with a 4-3-3 formation, slow tempo, short passing, more expressive style of play.

Can anyone offer some advice on how to approach the game differently to achieve the ultimate goal of dominating matches and winning convincingly

Play wider, play a quicker tempo with little time wasting? Should get the ball up the field faster and create chances.
