Interview from Roots Hall

Chris Phillips (Southend Echo): Firstly, congratulations on becomming the new manager of Southend United, how big a day is this for you on a personal note?

Ryan Stubbs: Today will live long in my memory as one of the best days of my life. I have been involved with this club for a few years now and i just love everything about it. The fans, the area, i love it all. The club has a very good set up here and has a bright future, hopefully i can be part of that future.

Dale Williams (Football League Paper): Previous Steve Tilson has been touted as the clubs greatest ever manager. How hard will it be for you to follow in his foot steps?

Ryan Stubbs: Steve Tilson is a very good manager and has done wonders for this club. Steve is also a very good friend and i would like to wish him well in his new job. Will i be able to emulate what Steve did for this club? I hope so, i will certainly give it my best shot.

Luke Temple (BBC Essex): With Southend's financial problems well documented, how hard will it be for yourself to add to your squad during the transfer window?

Ryan Stubbs: It will be very hard. With next to no transfer money available, i will have to rely on loan deals or picking up a gem who is a free agent. The only way money will be available to myself is if i sell players and i dont want it to come to that.

Chris Phillips (Southend Echo): Last seasons player of the season, Franck Moussa has attracted many high profile clubs in Europe. How confident are you off keeping hold of him?

Ryan Stubbs: Franck loves it here at Southend. I have sat down with Franck already and expressed to him my desire to keep him here. Franck wants to stay here. As far as im concerned, thats the matter closed.
