Nonsense, absolute nonsense.

You have no killer pass because first off who is going to make those passes? Secondly who will run onto those passes? Seriously, look at your roles and tell me why you've picked so many support roles and why you have chosen no-one to run forward?

Work ball into box yet run at defence? Short passing and higher tempo? I am sorry if I seem harsh but this tactic makes no sense to me. Also you are playing shorter passing yet you have a target man? I am actually confused by this.

Target men are not meant to be goalscorers. And no-one is going to consistently score in that set-up.

Looking at that Watford game and I am going to ask this, who cares if you "dominated possession"? You have 21 shots yet 9 ON TARGET. That is awful, you really need to watch those shots back and conclude why you were so poor at making chances. My guess is, everyone is getting in each-others way so are taking pot shots from range.

You really need to look at that tactic and watch your poor matches back Ask yourself what are you trying to achieve, sterile possession football with a target man won't work. Either set up for a counter attacking tactic (which suits Villa) or try and add some attacking duties and someone who will pass the ball.

One more thing, why fluid? You have 3 specialist roles in that side so it should be on balanced at the very least or even rigid.

I hope you figure it out and you turn it around.
 
I largely agree with Bluebird's critique of your tactic. Take a look at the first post on my thread about using multiple tactics; hopefully you'll be able to get some joy by applying some or all of what I did with my 4-5-1 V-Shaped Midfield. I don't use Inside Forwards, because I think out there in the real world, it's a tactic that only works for those elite teams privileged enough to have several of the best players in the world. For a team like Aston Villa, wide open spaces where you can exploit the pace of Agbonlahor are your friend:

When I had a run of draws, I started using that detail in the upcoming opponent scouting report where it tells you during which 15-minute period the opposition is more prone to conceding goals, and switched to ATTACKING and FLUID style, going back to CONTROL and BALANCED or COUNTER and RIGID when that period runs out. That gained me some wins.
