Hi Im Just Generally wondering If eccentricity In a Goalkeeper Is Good or Bad ??

Just Curious, Thanks (H)

bad.

means hes prone to making rash decisions and rushing out. think david james and fabian barthez.

in my view, this is the perfect keeper, i feel the eccentricity part of the graphical stats display gets too much prominence. makes it look like foster has a really poor part to his game, when he doesnt.

a GK with high ECC. ,every now and than, will think that he's Maradona and say to himself "now its my time to shine" followed by a stupid action resulting in ur team conceding a goal.its strongly related to Decisions also.since mostly i play with Fiorentina and there i have an eccentric GK in the person of Sebastien Frey, every season i take between 5-10 goals only as result of his "watch me now" moments(he's still a **** good keeper though, helping my team a lot in the other matches ).

strangely,in my last games i'ved tried to make Frey a bit more of a sweeper since he's good at rushing out also;therefore i setted his mentality and creative freedom to 1 tick below normal and this has done wonders for him and for me also

Found this off another forum. ducks posted it. NOT ME :)

I suppose it's good if you like your goalkeepers to do things like this Higuita.

Think all Brazilian keepers and the odd Frenchy. Although it may not always be a bad thing, a few times out of ten they will do something daft and it will cost you.

In my opinion a Gk with a high eccentticity will cost you maybe 1 game out of 10 (doing someting insanely daft and idiotic i.e. Barthez, James as mentioned above) whereas i beleive that same keeper will win you 4 games out of 10 as they will pull of saves that are incredible!

so in essence, i like my Gk to have their fair share amount of Eccentricity!
