i created my own counter attacking formation with napoli, a sort of 2(cb) 2(dm) 2(wb) 1(cm-playmaker) 3(st-stc, str, stl) the only signing i made was jose callejon for 4.3m as he was on the transfer list and at stl he has very impressed with 7 goals, 20 assists, 2motm and an ave. rating of 7.48 in just 26games. Also lavezzi has impressed on the right wing, but my main man is cavani! he was an absolute tank at the start of my game scoring at least 2 goals a match and sometimes 3/4, in the first 10 games he had about 31 goals

yes you read it right, 31 goals in 10 games!! ive carried on with this file and everyones performances have seemed to drop:/ cavani has now played 26 games, scoring 48, assisting 7 with 15 motms and averages a rating of 8.41. yes i know this is all good, but its nothing compared to how it used to be with 31 goals in 10 games with an average rating of 9.7something! considering him and my team are scoring far less goals than we did before,even though we have scored the most in the league 80 in 27 games im wondering if teams are just learning how to play against me and stop me scoring!?View attachment 262858View attachment 262861View attachment 262860View attachment 262859and oh yeah, in january, i bought cheick tiote and yoann gourcuff. gourcuff is only a rotation with hamsik who gets tired most matches to i bring gourcuff on near the end, while i play tiote as a first team regular in dm with inler:)View attachment 262857

Do you rotate Cavani at all or just rest him when tired,i found on my save playing aguero everytime hes available leads to him becoming complacent,i think its somehow the player knows he will get a slot in team so gets lazy if you have someone challenging it gives them something to work for thier place.

I dont think that teams can learn how you play per say but i do belive the more succesfull you are the more teams try to sit behind 10 men all the time making them hard to break down,i change my tactics ever so slightly to give them something else to think about ie i normaly play with rooney as dlp but against strong opposition il drop him and put muller on as amc spt or play with 2 cm and a anchor man same if its a chamions league game or not i will normaly play 4-1-1-2-2,i do like the look of your formation though how is it for conceding? pretty hard to break down i bet?
 
thanks for the advice mate, ill try it out because i dont usually rotate cavani as hes my main goalscorer:).

i do concede, but not very many, my biggest defeat is loosing 3-0 to real madrid in the champions league which really annoyed me after beating them 1-0 in the first leg -_-!

also almost every match on team talks, whenever most of my team react good to them, there is never a reaction from cavani, do you believe this is from him getting to complacent and 'big headed' beleiving he doesnt need to listen or something?

It could be yes but sometimes ive found players just have no reaction no matter what you say,i have a rotation option for every player in my squad granted alot of them are future replacements for the first 11 so most of them only play about 10-15 games a season.and every couple of games il rotate certain players to keep them fresh and ofc because not every player is an exact clone of his mate sometimes it leads to changing roles of the player or indeed changing the shape of the team slightly
 
ill try that out:D. but most of my player roles have differant individual instructions tweaked and moved around, ive uploaded the tactic in my main post (about the formation and cavani etc.) it would be great if you tried it out and gave me some feedback, only if youve got the time:).
 
Id be glad to give it a try on my current save im dominating with my tactic granted i am playing man utd so its not too challenging :P il start a new game and give it a whirl at some point.
 
good, what type of tactic you using (counter, possession or just a general dominating tactic;)?) and yeah, i would be very thankful if you did:).
 
Gave it a quick game on my main save but changed the wingers to if cutting inside and the striker to poacher as i was resting aguero 3 goals on the counter so with good pace upfront this will eat most teams i think but i do have hamsik,hulk,aguero,gotze,muller, etc as im pretty far on and have won pretty much everything :D.

My tactic is View attachment 262875 its still work in progress and i havent tested it at all on any teams except man utd ,sometimes i play with dlf on right othertimes its a amc on support with a single stiker.
 
good:D! and i take it youve got a pretty amazing squad;)! i just want to finish the season with this tactic first, because ive only ever finished about 3 seasons before as i usually play it untill about november/demember and get bored of that team and make a new save with someone else-_-, however ive not got to long of the season left so im trying to complete in and complete further seasons. when i finish the season, ill give your tactic a quick black in pre season and if my team adapt to it quite well, ill use it as my secondary tactic, however, if it goes really well with my squad i could use it as my primary and drop my counter attacking one as my secondary:).
 
Well im thinking of borrowing the settings you use for hamsik in cm as i play him in a similer mode but he never seems to perform that well played him in 3 matches using your tactic and hes been godly :D
 
hamsik is one of the players that didnt really do anything untill around christmas time, then tweaked with his instructions and now averages one of my highest ratings per game (cavani's injured - but only for about a week left:/.

View attachment 263948 so cavani went on to finish the season with 53 goals! in 28 appearences, due to banns and injuries (a lot of my players got banns due to the aggressive tackling) which is the only real downfall with the tactic.

without even playing a single friendly since lavezzi has been gone, i somewhat already regret selling him:/!

i have also made very poor signings to replace all of the people i either let go on a free, or would not sign a new contract after not playing enough last year. from what looked to be a very exciting save for the first season - predicted 7th and ending up title holders, the game is looking to be going down-hill, selling one of my main wingers who shown he could both score and assist and not being able to replace him along with alot of other players, however... after getting -i cant remember how much- money from my board because i won the seria a, ontop of my 23m for lavezzi, i have a budget of 52m to spend:D!

any suggestions for players to play in high tempo counter attacking games direct passing?
