My land :P

Denmark defended very well, they know how to mark robben. Netherland was unlucky and some bad decisions came from referee.

Please. If you want this to be a good discussion thread, please dont post their line up and your thoughts about the ref. It has nothing to do with emulating their style of play. Off topic posts with be removed

I thought they lined up like this against Denmark

GK Goalkeeper - Defend
DR Wing Back - Support
DC Central Defender - Defend
DC Central Defender - Defend
DL Full Back - Support
DMCL Anchor Man - Defend
DMCR Defensive Midfielder - Support
AMR Inside Forward - Attack
AMC Advanced Playmaker - Support
AML Inside Forward - Attack
ST Advanced Forward - Attack

Not too sure about the philosophy, maybe Rigid or Balanced?

Standard strategy

Shorter Passing, more pressing and maybe more CF

Last game against Denmark: 4231 with Inside Forwards

ST: Van Persie as Deeplying Forward - Attack
AML: Affelay as Inside foward - Attack
AMC: Sneijder as Adv playmaker - Support
AMR: Robben as Inside foward - Attack
MCL: De Jong as Ball Winning Midfielder - Defend
MCR: Van Bommel as Ball Winning Midfielder - Support

after subs:

ST: Huntelaar as Advanced Forward - Attack
AML: Sneijder - Adv playmaker - Support
AMC: v Persie - Trequartista
AMR: Robben - Inside forward - Attack
MCL: van der Vaart - Adv playmaker - Support
MCR: van Bommel - Ball Winning Midfielder - Support

Control, more pressure, short passing, more creative freedom

Agree with most of that but De Jong played very deep and he was not playing a ball-winning role but rather as an Anchor-man almost within touching distance of the CB's. He barely moved from in front of the back 4.

Also, I think Heitinga could have been a BPD because at times he did try long through balls out of the back.

Is there anyway you could check the "holds up ball" and "cuts inside" boxes twice for Robben??? Or maybe you could adjust his teamwork to -10...that's the only way to emulate the dutch tactic because their is no way the ME could replicate the Robben role.
