Im at the start of my first season, and managing Stoke and England. I was wondering if anyone has had success with England and which formation and players you used. Cheers :D

Well if you count Confederations Cup a success (I did beat Spain though), then yes, I have had success with England. I played a 4-3-2-1, with 3 CM, all with different roles. the MCL was Advanced Playmaker, and was Wilshere, MC was Box to Box and was Rodwell, MCR was Ball Winning Mid was Huddlestone. then i had two wingers. on the left, i had Scott Sinclair as an inside forward, on the right I had Walcott as a winger, and I had Rooney up front. LOL, quite an embarassing team. I quit immediately after the Confed Cup because my team played horrendous football and I was sick of them. But yeah, this formation suits England perfectly. Philosophy would be fluid, starting with counter, more direct passing, aggressive on the tackle...etc etc.. also, have a good set-piece strategy. that essentially was what won me the tournament.

Cheers mate! I've got the corner tactic of FB's stay back, all others lurk except my best header (John Terry) and he bags alot! i will get in scott sinclair as an inside forward but i will keep ashley young in as he has lots of assists. thanks for your help!

if i could recommend a corner tactic that seriously works...both corners near post - have one centre back (the better header) attacking the near post, one attacking the back post. one of your better headers of the ball (not a defender) for a near-post flick on...only have one player lurking, utilise all the roles possible :D

yeah, Welbeck is a very good player to have. he was injured unfortunately for me.
