When Legendary England International Dean Preston retired from football, Many expected him to walk away from the game. Instead he took a few coaching roles at clubs like West Ham and Fulham. Before being offered the Job at Fratton Park... Heres Dean Preston's story so far.
Season 1 - Portsmouth
Season Summary - After a hard fought season. Despite woeful financial problems, Preston managed to save the club from relegation without bringing any players to the club. As the season came to a close, The financial situation had become so bad that the transfer activity in the summer ahead would be an eventful one.

Season 2 - Portsmouth
Season Summary - Preston once again saved the club from plummeting into the Championship with some important signings and alot of luck. Television money meant the club received £7m to spend on players and after raising £12m through selling deadwood and some key players, Preston was able to bring in some of his own including Asamoah Gyan on loan who scored an impressive 15 goals which was much needed, Kamil Zayatte (£1.8m) who led the back line and several journey men including Lee Bowyer (£180k), Mikael Forssell (£425k) and Benjani (Free) This meant key players such as Belhadj and Ben Haim had to be sacrificed.

Everton sack David Moyes which leaves the role vacant at Goodison Park. Feeling like he had taken the debt ridden club as far as he could take them, Dean Preston decides to apply for the managerial role at Everton. He application is accepted and he starts work at Goodison Park immediately.
Season 3 - Everton
Season Summary - Dean Preston's first course of action was to deal with the deadwood at the club. Which meant Dan Gosling (£5.25m) Sylvain Distin (£300k) Cameron Jerome (£2.5m) and Jose Baxter (£2.7m) were all sold. A season which was very much expected of Everton, Finishing in Europe and making a run for the Champions League.

Season 4 - Everton
Season Summary - It was another tough season domestically for Everton, Just missing out on the Big Fourth spot. A frustrating season for the manager as he had changed the squad rapidly with the exception of key players. Eren Derdiyok (£11.25m) was added to provide fire power. He didn't disappoint, Scoring an incredible 41 goals and 18 assists in 59 games, which saw him win Striker Of The Year, A runner-up as Player Of The Year and also making the Team Of The Year. Diego Renan (£7.5M) was also added to strengthen up the defence. Curtis Davies (£10m) Sandro (£13.5m) Johann Djourou (Loan) Vladimir Weiss (£2.8m) Jonathan Woodgate (£1.9m) and Samir Nasri (Free) were brought in the replace the players sold which came to £38m, Including the sale of John Heitinga for £14m.
