England Manager Game... 11.3

First off....i know everyone will probably say 'Why don't i just do a story?'...well in answer i have never done a story before and so would like to start off by doing one of these and see how it goes.
I am going to manage England on the latest db (11.3) and see how i get along. Feel free to post queries, suggestions or tips on any part of my journey.

First Post

I have taken charge of England a short while before a friendly against Hungary ( Game Date: 6th July 2010). Picked my first squad for the match Vs Hungary as follows:

Also he is my team line-up and my tactic....

Jack Wilshere has been selected as my captain which Steven Gerrard filling in as vice-skip.

Please comment on squad choice, line-up and anything else you may wish to pass verdict on.

That's what I was thinking...what is one of "these"?

By the way, I think it's a good squad choice but I would play Ashley Cole for a few more years and would not have put Wilshere as captain yet. But that's your choice! :)
 
whats with robbie fowler and danny graham making the squad ? :P striker injuries that bad ? :P
 
Second Post

Played match Vs Hungary...

Won 3-0. Pretty good strikes from both Andy Carroll and Aaron Lennon. ( see attachments )

My verdict on the match was pretty good. We dominated both defensively and offensively, with Wilshere playing a vital role in the centre of the pitch. Considering i was missing Walcott and Ferdinand i'm glad with both the goals we scored and our clean sheet. Also more goals Vs a weaker team like HUngary would have been nice however i can conceade my team has only had ths tactic for a short time.

In reply to people saying 'ROBBIE FOWLER????'....i say i have no stiker injury worries its just he is a good player and provides some needed professional support for Wayne and Andy. Also still got great stats for his age ;)

Third Post

Second game nearly here , Bulgaria in a Euro 2012 Qualifier and so my second squad to be registered... ( see attachment )
Slight injuiries to both Cole and Gibbs, leaving my left back position uncovered :/ for now. Good news is that England Legend...yes Sir David is back, fighting fit for the first of my qualifiers. This means i can move Lennon back over to my prefered left inside forward position and allow me to bring on Adam Johnson late in the game to provide that immense pace that will surely fold that tired Bulgarian defence!
Same tactics again, as they worked so well first time around and why change something that is not broken? Match post on soon...

Just out Ledley KIng has suffered a torn calf muscle BAD TIMES, but in contrast Ferdinand has just recovered and so will be called up to replace King!!!
 
IRL Danny Graham has scored roughly 25 goals for Watford. Maybe that's reason enough to have him in the England team ;)
 
# 1 - graham, emmanuel thomas, fowler all no way near good enough for england squad.. matty jarvis/dann etc deserve it more if your gunna give people a chance

# 2 - putting wilshere captain is way too early imo he only 19 and in gerrard, terry and rio you have 3 of the best captains available ...
 
Fourth Post

Played match Vs Bulgaria

Game went very well....No total dominantion from England as predicted by the media but Bulgaria had no clear cut chances in front of goal and so i will take this as a great positive!

In terms of goals...Nice to see Ferdinand get the scoring started off ( what a way to re-asert yourself after an injury!!! ) Also it seems that Lennon is flourishing in his new inside forward role, no matter what side of the pitch and has decided to wear his shooting boots as it were :)

With Gibbs he was feeling it with his pre-match knock and so i took him off and with Cole also out, it was left to Glen Johnson to fill the left back shoes.
Wayne hadn't really shown much first half and so i saw it fit to give Fowler a chance for a half. This proved a managerial success with Robbie going on to provide a clean assist for Lennon to slot his goal away.
Finally with Gerrard playing his 'box-to-box' role, he was absolutely shattered and so was subbed for Lampard late on, so Lamps could see off the Bulgarians for the last 10 but was so nearly on the scoresheet with a fine edge-of-the-box header just scraping the far post.

maybe he done what mike basset done in mike basset in england maneger and accedently called up one player thats really old and one thats in one of the lower leagues
