In response to this the game chooses who makes the England squad, not SI, John Terry retired from internationals after the data lock and they can't put in real friendly matches due to legal reasons.

That doesn't really matter, Football Manager starts in June/July 2012. Almost every thing is up to date to that point, if they kept on making changes for every thing that happened in football the game would never be released.

There are a few managers that have been sacked already, but will still be in charge of their teams. SI only need to make available what we had at the start of the season.

If you're looking for up to date transfers wait for someone to upload a custom transfer update (LFCMarshall hopefully).

also just noticed in the demo john terry retired from international duty in late september, so thats cool, only he finished with 80caps as he played in every game up to retirement, which is no big deal
