Thought i might start an International save. And do the World Cup. But it got me thinking about the World cup and the 23 i would take So i thought i post my 23 for England. And maybe see who other people want to go to to the World Cup.

Goalkeepers

Hart, Forster, Ruddy

I think the first 2 are obvious choices. I take Ruddy as Ben Foster retired. I know he's back. But he's not gonna get infront of Hart or in my book Forster. So Ruddy goes as he's been in most squads in the last 2/3 years.

Defenders (Full backs)

Glenn Johnson, Kyle Walker, Cole, Luke Shaw

Now you notice no Baines. Ashley Cole is a defensivley the best lb still in the world. He goes. I think Shaw is going to be the best left back in the world. Defensively he is already better than Baines. And going forward he is also very good. His pace is frightning and he is still growing. As much as i like Baines. He is not on my plane to Brazil.

Defenders (Centre Backs)

Cahill, Jagielka, Phil Jones, John Terry

First 2 are nailed on. Phil Jones goes as he is very versatile. Can cover full back and midfield. John Terry has to go. We have to do whatever is possible for him to go. Cole Terry Cahill is good enough for Chelsea week in week out. It's more than good ennough for England.

Midfielders (Centre Mids)

Huddlestone, Gerrard, Wilshire, Carrick, Barkley, The Ox

Ox goes all day long he can also play wide as well as centre mid. Lampard dont go for me unless there is an injury to Carrick its a toss up between the 2. I think Carricks ball retention edges it for me. The others are certain to go. Barkley is the new hope. Gerrard is the old hope. Tom Huddlestone is the one. He has to go. So important he does. He is like a quater back. The man is a man mountain. If he was Italian or French he would have already had 50 caps. Fantastic this season deserves a place to Brazil.

Midfielders (Wingers)

Lallana, Sterling, Townsend/Adam Johnson/Zaha/J Rod

Lallana goes. Lallana starts for me. I also would start Sterling. Been a big season for him. His pace is electric. Gives you such a chance pushing teams back on the counter. They wont know what to do with him. With Theo out, he has a chance to make himself a star. I really cant make a decsion on the other ones. I think they all might have a chance. Zaha is there as one always sneaks in. I think it will be Townsend, but lack of action gives the other 3 an edge. Adam Johnson is becoming the player he should have been 3 years ago. Tough call.

Strikers

Rooney, Sturridge, Lambert

I cant see any other choices. Welbeck you could mention. Same with J Rod. They could also go to cover that 3rd winger slot above. The thing is tho. Welbeck dont score goals. I dont trust him. I think because of the climate it might be good to take him. I just really like Lambert. He would make something happen. Aka Steve Bull. Italia 90. This bloke has the ability to number 1 take a pen lol. Number 2. Right place right time. You need a goal. You call Rickie Lambert. Go win us the game son.

Formation wise. 4231, 41221. 352. I actually think going 352 is the way to go. Remember Italia 90 and Euro 96. What did we play? 352. It also really suits the players. Hull and Liverpool have had some great sucess this season. Not to mention Juve. You can always switch to wingers after if we need something. With the pace we have off the bench, it would scare teams senseless.

Thats the 23 i would take. Opinions are like arseholes tho lads. Everybodys got one. So whats your squad?

I would probably take Lampard instead of Huddlestone.

I also enjoy giving caps to players which have been overlooked in real life. Last year i gave Nolan and Holt caps even though they were both in their 30's.

Terry is retired, I just think somehow someway he needs to go Roy needs to make it happen. Especially after watching him this season. Defensively we are very shakey and arguably Terry Cahill is the best CB pairing in the prem. Honourable mentions to Jordan Henderson. His stamina maybe get him on plane. Lampard at his age i think his time has gone. I would go Huddlestone/Henderson over him. Huddlestone has the ability to boss games. I just hope we go 3-5-2. If he goes he would be an integral part of that option.

His stamina wont count for much in the heat, game will be slower, and Possession is key, Hudddlestone is much more suited

Cole doesn't play for Chelsea week in week out..

Players who I think deserve & I'd like to see go - Clyne, Huddlestone, Delph, Gibbs.

Players with outside chances who will try & play there way onto the plane - Ravel, Barry, Henderson, Caulker, Shaw, Chambers, Ward-Prowse, Redmond, Tom Ince (If he can show his talent in the prem for Palace) A.Johnson, Agbonlahor, Berahino,

Players who have somewhat no chance IMO but according to whoscored.com (very good scouting/rating site) are some of the best English players in the prem this season - Curtis Davies, Joel Ward, Mark Noble, Kevin Nolan, Mike Williamson, Steve Sidwell, Billy Jones, Scott Parker, Nathan Dyer, Leon Osman, Jake Livermore.

My XI would be

Hart, Walker, Cahill, Jagielka, Baines, Gerrard, Wilshere, Lallana, Rooney, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sturridge

My Answer For IRL
Goalkeepers

Hart, Forster, Ruddy

Joe Hart Is The Obvious Choice As Long As He Plays Consistently Well Forster Second Best And Very Trustworthy To Make The Difference Between Losing & Staying In The Game Ruddy Wont Be Needed But Is There Just In Case

Defenders (Full backs)

Kyle Walker/Glen Johnson/Baines/Shaw

On The Right Back Slot it'll Mainly be kyle walker as a last option i dont trust him defensively but he is only here because there is no one else that can perform on that side if glen johnson gets an injury on the left i've made a major shock decision here but ashley cole just isnt getting games and to win a world cup or get far in a world cup u need players who are up for the speed of games no matter how world class he is baines goes as 1st choice + if its against a big opponent and the only way to beat a worldclass team with the squad england of got i wud double up on the left play baines as a winger for his crossing ability and bring luke shaw on

Defenders (Centre Backs)

Cahill/Phil Jones/Chris Smalling/Jagielka
Cahill & Phil Jones I Think Is The Best Partnership Because They Cover Each Others Weaknesses Cahill Is The Calm Collective 1 While Phil Jones Is The Energetic Destroyer - Smalling & Jagielka Provide Good Enough Cover

Midfielders (Centre Mids)

Wilshere/Carrick/Huddlestone/Gerrard

WIlshere & Carrick As 1st Choice Wilshere Will Provide The Pace & Power Driving Tearing Through A Team While Carrick Will Sit Back Spray Passes Everywhere Leaving Wilshere To Go B2B With Alot Less Worry About Intercepting & Breaking Up Play Gerrard & Huddlestone Would Make Stil A Quality Partnership Because They Would Compliment Each Other Well

Midfielders (Wingers)

Zaha/Townsend/The Ox/Lallana

Im Gonna Make A Big Decision Here And Play Lallana & Zaha As My 1st Choices Lallana Has Skill Technique And Is A Modern Day Attacker While Zaha is The Lucky Egg He In Unpredictable But In World Cups Chances On Youth Can Make A Difference & You Need To Be Strong Enough To Make Big Decisions The Ox & Townsend Have Been Good Performers For England Too

Central Attacking Midfielders & Strikers

Barkley/Rooney/Sturridge/Lambert

Barkley Is A Livewire With The Ball Skill Pace Agility Technique A Modern Day Attacking Midfielder/Rooney Is Someone Who Has A Point To Prove That He Is Not A Bottler & Being A Manchester United Fan He Is Someone I Believe Comes Alive In Biggest Matches/ Sturridge Has Proved His Worth This Season With Liverpool Lambert Is A Back Up Plan If Nothing Else Works

Formation wise. id go 4-2-3-1 4-1-2-2-1 & 4-3-3 with 3 strikers my 4-2-3-1 would be my main formation with barkley rooney & zaha rotating positions causing **** for teams with the defense & central midfield keeping its shape 41221 is similar but a more defensive version 4-3-3 with strikers is a big call to make but sometimes you need to make big decisons and have to go for the kill nd with lambert rooney & strurridge switching positions in attack carrick gerard & wilshere swithcing position in midfield it is the different in killing a team off all 3 of the formations you can you use to keep possesion calm football and direct a totally different look for england and 1 i think would benefit england in this world cup

but wth roy hodgson as manager so i doubt he would make big decisions he doesnt have the cahone's to pick a team like this and to stick by it

was gunna start a save with cardiff but reading this made me wonna do my england save so thank you :)

_________________________________________________________________

for my latest selection my 23 man squad is as follows

note im in 2014

goalkeepers

john ruddy, jack butland, alex maccarthy,

so far alex is the No. 1 keeper due to being in form and ruddy/butland for back up/rotation. joe hart int in as he's been playing terrible for club/country recently and frasier forster int in as he's injured and tbf would have to seriously impress to get into my squad after his last match,

full backs

kyle walker, nathaniel clyne, leighton baines, wayne bridge( yes i know what the ****)

kyle and leighton are first choices in their respective positions. clynes there for back up/rotation and waynes only in due to ashley being to rubbish lately and luke being injured (:( ) and is strict back up

centre backs

phil jageilka, phill jones, steven caulker, ryan shawcross.

steven and ryan start for me as steven been great for me every time he's played and ryan is way better than phil jagielka and phill jones is more for when i need goals late in second half. wanting to find a better younger player to replace phil jageilka.

central midfielders

nathan chalobah, gareth barry, frank lampard, james ward-prowse, micheal carrick,

nathan, micheal and james start for me as they have the legs for the games, frank is for when i need a fresh option in the attacking area when james is tired, and gareth is back up to micheal and nathan, and again only in squad due to injuries.

wingers

ashley young, andros townsend, aaron lennon, the ox,

really hard for me to choose between these as all four are fantastic (imo england's strongest area is wingers).
recently ashley and andros has been starting with aaron/alex replacing one of them during match.

strikers

daniel sturridge, wayne rooney, danny welbeck

again hard for me to choose between daniel and danny both fantastic lately daniels been started, with welbeck replacing him, wayne is difficult for me to play as he'll sometimes play good against lower teams but against the bigger ones he's rubbish, and ant replaced him due to injuries/noone else really good enough just yet to go to world cup.

i play a deep 4231 (two dm's) and so far played great with this tactic winning eight and losing just the one game to spain 5-3 although was 2-0 up at some point but then they injured 2 players and a player got sent of.

also charlie austien, rayheam sterling, wilfred zaha, will hughes and more youngsters have also played for me during my first 8 games.

forder i also like to do that but with younger players as you can partually see above

Goalkeepers
Hart, Ruddy and Kean

Hart and Ruddy are defo first 2 choices but i picked kean from blackburn as 3rd choice as i think hes had a good season with blackburn and i think hes better than foster also kean is only 21 or 22 soo the experience will do him the world of good.

Defenders (Full backs)
kyle walker, cole, luke shaw & Nathaniel clyne

Defenders (Centre Backs)

Cahill, shawcross , Phil Jones, John Terry

I put shawcross in here because i believe he is the closest thing john terry

Midfielders (Centre Mids)
Huddlestone, Gerrard, Wilshire, Barkley, will Hughes, Henderson

You might be suprised to see i have included but i have done this because he is very versatile, he can play the holding role or play in the hole behind the strikers (like iniesta)

Midfielders (Wingers)
Lallana, Sterling, Townsend, Adam Johnson, J Rod
Strikers
Rooney, Sturridge, agbonlahor, welbeck

Formation
4-2-3-1, 4-1-2-2-1 and 4-2-4

I think Smalling is better, compared with Jiagielka. And you dont like Gerrard?
