English Domination v2

View attachment 151237
My aim for this career story is simple. Win 5 UEFA Champions League trophies with English clubs that have never won the competition before i.e. Arsenal, Manchester City etc.

I am not allowed to take over at clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea or Liverpool as they have previously won the prestigious trophy. Once I have won the UEFA Champions League with a club it is then my duty to resign from the club and take over at another English club and guide them then to the glory of winning the UEFA Champions League.

I am kicking off the story with an easier club to win the trophy, by all means it will not be easy and I am not expecting it to be in my first season, but Arsenal are the team that I will be starting this task with.

People may realise that it is a version 2 of English Domination but it is one of my first posts, this was originally brought out by one of my friends BennettS, but he has given me permission to use the story thread and original pictures.

Pre-season went poor by my standards but I am not too concerned regarding this as long as the performances start to improve once the season begins, this was really just to trial out different tactics and lineups. I will say that I have decided on a 4-2-3-1 as my main tactic and a 4-5-1 for the tougher games as that is usually my main style.

Unfortunately with the Community Shield game as our first fixture we have only managed to squeeze in 4 friendlies during this time which I am not best pleased about but I am sure once the lads do have a few games together we will be fighting fit and ready to fight for that Champions League trophy!

Well, the first 2 CL should be fairly accessible (Arsenal and City), and maybe even the 3rd (thinking Spurs are looking good for that), but you will have a serious challenge on your hands with the 4th and 5th one. Maybe even taking the challenge up a notch, why not do it with a team that are not in the Premier League? :p

I may well just do that when the time comes. It might eventually come to the fact that I won't have a choice as if Man City or Spurs won't hire me I will have to go to a lower club anyway. It is going to be a difficult challenge but an achievable one providing I can put the time in.

Unfortunately I had a bit of an issue with my computer so here it goes again. I have started the season again barring the opening result against New York Red Bulls. I have also made a few key signings with some new players due to be announced in the next few updates.

Pre-season was much more of a success this time around and I managed to tweak my tactics a little to make it a bit more stable in defence. I am still playing with a 4-2-3-1 formation and a defensive 4-5-1 when the opposition is a bit stronger but let us see how the season unfolds now.

A lot of money has been spent here in this transfer window so it is obvious that a trophy of some sort is a must need by the end of the season and that is my target. I believe each and every one of these players will be work the money spent on them but there has been just shy of £100million spent, only £600k short so the fans and the board will be expecting some sort of return.

Emmanuel Mammana - The only player who didn't cost a penny. In previous games I have played on FM this guy turns into an absolute monster so it is no wonder as to why we signed him, albeit on loan but he will play a major part in the season and hopefully snap him up at the end of the year. Unfortunately Sevilla wouldn't accept a future transfer fee so depending on how he plays we will see whether we can strike a deal at the end of the year.

Andrija Zivkovic - A cheap buy at just £1.5million but touted as an exceptionally gifted winger, known to some as the Serbian Messi, but we will have to wait and see for that. Most likely going to be playing on the right wing as an inside forward but will be needed on the other wing also, not likely to be a starter but a few good performances from the Serb and it will give me a few questions to ask myself.

Mikkel Duelund
- I haven't really heard too much about this player, he was recommended to me by one of my new scouts and at £400k I thought he was worth the risk. Quite expecting him to head out on loan to get some playing experience but I will be keeping a close eye.

Romelu Lukaku - The most expensive signing of the summer at Arsenal. The big Belgian is exactly what I need up top at the Emirates, he has shown what he can do in real life this year and I am hoping he can replicate that form in the Premier League playing for a bigger club, more than likely getting more chances. Let's see if he can beat the 18 Premier League goals he scored in real life.

Youri Tielemans - Another expensive signing from Anderlecht but he is a player with a huge potential talent, I am signing him at this young age so that he can still become a home-grown player. Another Belgian which we have signed and once again I am looking forward to seeing what he can offer the Arsenal squad. Probably won't be starting majority of games at first but once again, the same as Zivkovic, if he performs well there is no reason he cannot become a regular within the first team squad.

David Alaba - This man is the one that I was most excited about signing. David Alaba is such a versatile player and at a young age he will become a vital part to me winning the Champions League with Arsenal. He has a lot of Champions League experience and at a young age that is going to be so important. I am not going to play him in his favoured position at left back, but I am going to try him as a box-to-box central midfielder as I believe he has the ability to become one of the best central midfielders in the World, never mind at Arsenal.

Lewis Cook - Lewis is really another player I wanted to sign as he has a great potential and also provide great backup within the central midfield and defensive midfield positions. He will most likely play second fiddle to Elneny, Ramsey, Wilshere, Alaba, Tielemans.... oh god I didn't realise how many central midfielders I actually had. Time to get rid of some players too.
