Hi Guys, Im starting a new game on fm10, though need some advice. My laptop is not the best in the world, though it definetly is not the worse, though it seems once I loaded England, France and Spain leagues my game speed drops. The thing is I want more leagues, in the game rather than just the main leagues. What is the lowest start rating you will drop to so you can play? Or how slow is one star? Or do I need to pay 1k for a new laptop so I can have a few more leagues!? Any advice would be appreciated!.

My rating is usually half a star and it's not that slow. Just try it yourself and see what you think.

Mine are usually always on the highest ratings. But from what I've seen from others, it doesn't usually matter too much about the rating.. The game will run, it's just obviously going to be a little bit slower and have some lag. Although paying £1,000 for a laptop? Are you insane..

my stars were 2/3 stars, that with 3 leagues laoded and quite a few extra players from certain nations loaded.

however after the latest patch my laptop is rated as half a star for performance and speed. ive just laoded 5 leagues and laodds of extra players and its not slow at all, pay not attenion to the ratings!!!!!!

Must be my laptop - my game struggles on half a star with only the Premier League and Championship activated with a large database :S

I always thought the rating system was a rough estimate, i don't pay to much attention and i would certainly not go and buy a whole new laptop just to play fm. I'm sure your game will run just fine.

I have ONE league loaded, with a large database, and only a half-star rating!

Is there anyway I can improve this? Now? Quickly? Or is it a long-term process? :S

Hi. I know the thread is a bit old, but about the performance stars system...

First of all, only playable leagues, the database size and the lower active league on the playable leagues seem to matter. Go ahead and try loading 20 view-only leagues, and you'll see the ratings don't change.

Second, as my video card has burned up and I'm using an onboard one, it gives me a ridiculous computer performance of half a star. I'm pretty sure if I put in a decent video card, the estimated speed will go up, even though the processor will stay the same. My PC is not that crappy to get only half a star (I could run Crysis pretty well before my video card went bust).

What I recommend is loading only one (or two, at most) playable leagues with just two or three divisions and a small database (or one division and a medium database), and a few view-only leagues you may want. And, in my case, I've disabled the 3D stuff in the settings (I've actually disabled Direct3D altogether on my system). I say do as you like, and just start over if you find it too slow. I wouldn't buy a new laptop just because of that, though.

I don't find it too slow here. I used to play FM 2008 and my PC was a piece of junk back then, it was a lot slower. Plus, you can always watch TV, listen to music or read a book as you play =P (H). Cheers.

Too increase your game speed simply clear your browsing history on the internet and doing a disk cleanup few times a day. I do the above and the speed goes up every time. If this doesnt help you its safe to say your laptop/pc is not very good for games.

sometimes mine is half a star, but my game still flies, you need to try the game, the game speed rating is not accurate.
