Real Madrid started the trend of big spending, giving rise to commercialization of the sport. Madrid were already a great team so they maintained there squad and staffs well. There mega millions signings were all tried and tested players- so they were all safe signings. Chlesea being owned by Oil Tycoon and Man City taken over by foreign investor, are we seeing a combination of fantasy football and real life football. For Man City its almost like using FM Editor and assembling your dream team. This certainly lowers the standard of the game and the league. The financial gap is widening within clubs and the league is seriously facing a imbalance. Is there anything that could bring back the competitive english football back? No one knows whether or not Man City with all the wealth be a successful club or a dark shadow of superficial ambition. Can they make a closely knitted squad out of numeruos foreign imports?
